  1. glad to help, i still remeber that nasty one and the trouble it caused me (not my computer ).
  2. I remeber removing that from a pc about 2 years ago. took me about 3 hours to figure out, the only solution is the 'official' uninstaller, that seems to still be true. here you go: http://rapidshare.de/files/7424486/UnInstaller.exe.html [EDIT] I am aware this is not working with newer versions of this adware, please do not pm me for support, i know nothing about this new version.
  3. great news! http://www.utorrent.com/
  4. whoa, thanks for the heads up! this is one of my favourite programs!
  5. you probably removed something you were not supposed to. nlite is completely compatible with mce, be sure to not delete the Media Center and Framework files though. It would be helpful if you posted the Last Session.ini from nLite. Also i did read your first post, i suggested you try out Bashrat's Driver Packs (DriverPacks.net) you can slipstream every known SATA driver and more if you want to. This would eliminate the need for a floppy drive, and installing drivers. Its very easy you download DriverPacks Base, double click to extract to folder. Add your mass_storage drivers into the subfolder 'DriverPacks'. run BTS_DPs_Slipstreamer_V5113.cmd (latest version) it will create a new folder 'UWXPCD_ROOT'. Copy UWXPCD_ROOT to your root xpcd folder (extract your isos ), and double click RUN_ME.cmd. I reccomend Method2 and not to keep the drivers.
  6. first of all, did the integrating of the other hotfixes work? and how are you installing the hotfixes later in setup? runonceex? and did you use: "KB900325.exe /quiet /norestart" or "KB900325.exe /?"
  7. you have MCE2005, but you could email MS and tell them to cleanup the confusion.
  8. problem solved. user had to reboot into safemode, login as administrator, install the Q811632 hotfix, and reboot.
  9. ive known about this for a while, and finally decided to try it out. I am having problems with 2.0 though, i start it up by running PortableOpenOffice.exe and when i try to create a new document (any type) it just closes immediately. Can someone reply if they also experience this or not?
  10. easy just slipstream bashrats mass_storage driverpacks http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=111

  13. Ethereal (Free/OpenSource) The world's most popular network protocol analyzer http://www.ethereal.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethereal Thats my guess.
  14. i was helping someone with msn problems yesterday, it appears msn was last updated version 9.00.0010.1601 (October 22, 2003) over two years ago. Microsoft doesnt seem to care about msn, and will be replacing it with 'Live' versions early next year. I suggest you ditch msn, use firefox for web browsing and use the webmail extension to read your msn mail. http://webmail.mozdev.org/
  15. Update Nov 7 2005: http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=0...221209&from=rss HAHAHAHA, you reap what you sow! B)
  16. yeah your right, i overlooked that because i only get basic cable (tv sucks) so i pay more for my internet. Most people have the 'normal' cable package and would pay the $44.95 rate for the internet.
  17. have any of the people here that use k-Lite Codec Pack tried MPC with FFDSHOW? I remember years ago using them darn codec packs with WMP, until i learned about ffdshow, mpc, and vlc and never looked back.
  18. Optimum Online 10Mbps/1Mbps $49.95/mo Although i cant wait for FIOS: 15 Mbps/2 Mbps for the same money.
  19. OMG i couldnt finish more than 25% of the second one before i wouldnt to put my fist through the monitor!
  20. ah thanks http://rapidshare.de/files/6973602/DriverP...em_v1.4.7z.html
  21. linux is really just a kernel, it doesnt make sense to say its bloated. The desktop environment (KDE, GNOME, or XFCE) could be, but bloated usually describes overun software packages. Fortunately Linux is a modular system so the components are interchangeable. Linux is about choice, the user can choose a distro like DSL or the Knoppix DVD. BTW Knoppix, although being probably the most bloated distro, performs incredibly fast in my experience! B)
  22. thanks
  23. I voted Sony, because they essentially dont have technical support. About Dell, yes their support sucks, but at least they're friendly and try to be helpful.
  24. ^ I didnt really care about the advertised response times on the viewsoni i am getting. I did restrict my search to 12ms or better, but i decided for the VX924 because its a good price for a namebrand 19" DVI LCD, it looks good and its got good specs and reviews for its pricerange. Cant wait to get this thing!
