In my Program file folders I have Divx RAxco Perfectdisk Windowsmedia player and winrar. For the rest of software need, I use all standalones application, In my E:. I never need to reinstall them, just 1 registry click for the association of file the first time I boot windows... U recommend that method to every power users, once you begin it, you can'T come back to old way...

Dont put he paging file on drive C: ! Even with a standard orginal xp cd I was able to reduce the installation of windows to 600 meg, with NLite I got about 300 mbs with full compatibilty that I need...

I found one ! A anti-virus software that can be perfectly run standalone. It's antivir. the manual update, and on-demand scanner work very well Just unrar the setup package to a directory... Better than nod 32. I also have found a undelete standalone application (may be portable) is Emergency Undelete from executive.com , the maker of Diskeeper. But is not a freeware

Avg is greatm but my favorite is Antivir because it be run standalone. Since I only use on-demand scan it perfect for me.

I say that there is an fair balance between Tweaking and compatibility. For example in my first nlite release I was removing all language related options. But I had problem later on to have acces to é and è. Since I am french, it was s*** ! Where do you put the .bat, your problem seem related to location. You could for example put the .bat in the same directory that teamspeak, and use a shorcut to start it...

I dont have any solution to any norton software. But I know That you have never try acronis true image. try it and you will drop norton Ghost. FAce it all norton product suck. Norton system crash norton antivirus (except the corporate..) Want a proof ? Since norton bought powerquest, They did a litlle update on partition magic. 8.02 to 8.05 And now is very unstable and crash often. I had to drop it in my field work... Those norton product are huge,slow, ressource hungry, their only good point is their reputation.

First, Set the paging file to be on d: It will help you control things. second,system restore = weak. Turn it off and use a real backup program like acronis true image. The c: drive should never be more than 1 gig in my opinion. Mine is 550 meg. That way it keep windows clean and fast.

What the goal of using deep freeze on your own computer ? This tools is for office, school, cybercafe computer park... Deep Freeze, on windows xp (ntfs formated drive) and with the propers bios options ( no booting from floppy, cd rom, pw protected) is almost uncrackable. But locking your own computer is stupid ! And it downgrade perfomance... To just quickly restore you setting boot from acronis boot cd. On my system it only take 35 sec, And my c: partition is restored ! With all my program, setting, patch and preferences even my favorites in IE.

Acronis True image, is very fast and strong. On my system It take me only 35 sec to restore my c: image. Acronis support sata and raid fully...

Shareazaa is slow for torrents, use abc for that protocol, I suggest and tweak the mininum peer setting...
