nuhi.. i tryied it 1 time which worked good until i tryed to install it 1. problem: it started from cd but then showed me a booterror! 2. after making the iso by myself it was working and installed fine until first reboot! there it canceled setup and sayed it was not able to install vista because one or more compients werent installed 3. now i`m not able to load any new sessions! it says everytime this error http://dynaletik.de/Sereby/privat/vlite-error.png it says this on a fresh installed xp too!

could you make a picture? maybe its only the missing xmllite.dll

i tryed already 1x the export switch.. the result was a 1,7gb image with no content after mounting it

from where do you have that hotfix?

yeah cool i got it by myself to extract the Updates you have to first have the .cab file extreacted out of the msu files (explained above) and when you have them you need the following files from the windows AIK: Dpx.dll msdelta.dll Expand.exe to extract the fixes just use a commandline: Expand.exe KB925029.cab -F:* "destinationdir"

yeah thx this works ^^ but every time i use the /commit switch on the image the image size is increased by ~200mb.. i tryed to delete the windows dir but after saving the image its 200mb bigger..

for example try to acess "local settings" folder of all users or mount with imagex the install.wim image and try to copy it or try to re-pack it from the mounted folder.. all impossible because of these **** protected folders

thanks for info but that doesnt help i still cant acress these folders after trying to ste the permissions.. and i cannot re-make the install.wim because it says acess denied (these protected folders)

yes i enabled it but with it its still not working.. its a global protection

hi is it anyway possible to remove the file and folder protections? for example when i try to goto into the local settings folder to see into the cache folder or whatever it says me that the access is denied! but thats almost everywhere its the same when i mount the install.wim with imagex there are the same permissions i hope anybody can help me and say how to disable this mass protection Sereby

Hi i was not able to find a solution for that and hope anybody here can help me with that: how to extract the new Windows Vista hotfixes (*.msu)? in Windows Vista is the Update agent the app. "wusa" but the help shows that there is no switch for extracting the hotfixes when i rename the *.msu to *.exe and extract it with winrar it shows me 2 .cab files: 1. KB*.CAB 2. WSUSSCAN.cab and one file called pkgProperties.txt in these KB*.cab files should be the new fixed files but if i view or extract it it shows only numbered files (1,2,3 ...) no one of them has a versionnumber or anything else. if i look into them with notepad they show me something like this: PA30?ñç?[ÒÆø À@??B @???{ÎÐôÇFÂqT??P# ?f and this PA* is the same when i extract Windows Xp hotfixes with winrar it looks like this: filename:_sfx_0000._p content: PA19 à€ ˜MC \`ˆ`%¬ so its still not correctly extracted. does anybody have a solution to extract them correctly? i use this switchless installer since today but have one problem with the m3u playlist ^^ i have to add the following into the registry that its working and play the playlist in winamp. if not its trying to expand the file (a reg entrie which i made to expand the compressed xp-setup files (.dl_ and .ex_ and so on) could you add this into the next release? no.. i already included the key and then this window does appear if i use the key which is shipped with vista in a xml file or so i can choose there all vista versions.. but i want to skip this window

fizban2: do you know how to say the unattended installation that it should automatically choose the "Vista Ultimate" in the window before choosing the partitions. hope you know what i mean

the rc2 has more bugs for me than rc1.. the biggest one is that it cannot restart! it hangs at a black screen and doesnt continue then ie ie7 favorites! if i open ie7 and the browse to the favorites folder and delete it and re-opebn ie again it still shows the folders! close and open ie again and see its empty ^^ but the same with importing the favorites! only atfer ie restart it takes effect

thx for update but since a few days i'm not able to install aclohol and daemon tools with wpi! this driver is in svcpack folder and in svcpack.inf is [setupHotfixesToRun] SPTDinst.exe but at the install of these 2 apps its still asking for the driver in v 1.25

i used an registry tool which looks for chaned keys and this one was the only one which is changed when i turn of the autoupdate like you sayed! and i tested it by changing it back some times and its working for me

the key you are searching for is here HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\AutoUpdate change the value default from "y" to "n"

if i select a app which has an condition its selecting the condition thats ok if i try to remove the condition (uncheck) is unchecking the other which need it! thats ok, too but if i select the first app whith the condition and then uncheck it the condition is still checked. dont know if this is possible for you to change this
