  1. Does anyone know what's going on with 'Bâshrat the Sneaky' and/or with the updates to the driverpacks. Based on the post in this forum the last time he posted was on the 12th when he said he had enough people for beta testing the new Base Driver Pack but there has been no news since then. Anyone know what the progress is on this front?
  2. I am sure somebody must have some ideas to solve this.
  3. Works fine except this method too has the problem of Nero not registering as a 'Handler' for 'AutoPlay'. Looks like it is a bug with any kind of silent install of Nero 7 itself.

  5. There used to be a time when people actually helped out on this forum. Now it seems that only a closed group of people interact in each other's posts and that's it. I cna't believe that no one here has any ideas to solve this.
  6. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ; Keyboard F-Lock ENABLED ;Reverses F-Lock key for new Microsoft and Logitech keyboards (Not for use on Laptops) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout] "Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,19,00,00,00,3b,00,3b,e0,3c,00,08,e0,\ 3d,00,07,e0,3e,00,3e,e0,3f,00,3f,e0,40,00,40,e0,41,00,41,e0,42,00,42,e0,43,\ 00,43,e0,44,00,23,e0,57,00,57,e0,58,00,58,e0,3b,e0,3b,00,08,e0,3c,00,07,e0,\ 3d,00,3e,e0,3e,00,3f,e0,3f,00,40,e0,40,00,41,e0,41,00,42,e0,42,00,43,e0,43,\ 00,23,e0,44,00,57,e0,57,00,58,e0,58,00,00,00,00,00 I use the above registry tweak in my unattended CD and it works great for me with my 'Microsoft Wireless Natural Mutltimedia Keyboard'. I inadvertantly included this in an Unattended CD I made for my sister who has the 'Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000' which does not have a 'F Lock' key, I think the above Registry entry ends up disabling the Funtion Keys on her keyboard, which is why they don't work. Th what needis a way to 'reverse' this entry in the registry so that the function keys will work again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Sanjay
  7. I have never tried this but using simple logic I presume it should work, but then again you never know. On your unattended CD Make a folder called 'restart' in '$OEM$\$1\Restart' and place all the programs you want installed after the 1st restart into this folder. Make a command file and name it 'restart.cmd' and place it in '$OEM$\$1\Restart' then add the following to your 'start.cmd': ECHO. ECHO. Placing 'restart.cmd' in the startup folder to be run on 1st restart. COPY "%systemdrive%\Restart\restart.cmd" "%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" The contents of 'restart.cmd' will ofcourse be dependent on what you want installed on 1st restart and at the end of 'restart.cmd' add the following: ECHO. ECHO Deleting 1st Restart Installation Files... RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\Restart I hope this works.
  8. The problem is probably not with Nero, because if you do a straightforward install of Nero, it registers the programs with 'Auto Play' just fine.
  9. I have always had NeroStartSmart in my install.
  10. The Changelog for some reason says "DriverPacks BASE 6.03.5". No offense meant to anyone just thought it was funny.
  11. There is a problem with installing using this script. I don't know if it is a problem or if it actually is by design, although I presume it is a problem since I can't imagine why it would be by design. The problem: The installation is fine and the programs work fine, except that the function to register any of the programs with 'Auto Play' is not available. In other words when I insert a blank CD/DVD in the writer, the 'Auto Play' function of windows popups and asks what program to use depending on the type of CD/DVD inserted. But none of the Nero programs are listed as an option.
  12. I am just wondering how does IE7 beta 2 install in an unattended cd/dvd. I thought it needed to validate Windows before the installer would run, so how would it validate in an unattended cd/dvd?
  13. There is a problem with installing using this script. I don't know if it is a problem or if it actually is by design, although I presume it is a problem since I can't imagine why it would be by design. 14. I had a feeling this would be the case. Anyhow, let me try and explain: Under: DriverPack Graphics C Current version: V6.03 Archive size: 34.05 MB Decompressed size: 118.91 MB Click on ---> Supported devices & changelog of DriverPack Graphics C. Once on that page, go to 'File --> Save As' and click on it. A 'Save Web Page' window will open up where in the default 'File name' already filled out will be 'Bâshrat the Sneaky's DriverPack Graphics B', whereas it should be 'Bâshrat the Sneaky's DriverPack Graphics C'. By the way, this is only a problem in the case of 'DriverPack Graphics C', in the case of all the other packs the file name by default shows correctly.
  15. Yes I did and it works perfectly for me. Could you please specify what were the issues with the old script that have been resolved in the new one. The reason I ask is because the old script seemed to work perfectly for me.
  16. The autoit script works perfectly fine for me, including installing 'Smart Start'. I did make some changes to the script but the changes were only adding a few more registry entries: ; Disable the CD/DVD from ejecting after burning is complete. $EjectTheCDLater = 1 If $EjectTheCDLater = 1 Then RegWrite('HKCU\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\General', 'EjectTheCDLater', 'REG_DWORD', '1') ; Enable Nero Waiting For Disc Sound. $CdChangeCheck = 1 If $CdChangeCheck = 1 Then RegWrite('HKCU\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\General', 'CdChangeCheck', 'REG_DWORD', '1') ; Enable Burn Process Fail Sound. $CdFailCheck = 1 If $CdFailCheck = 1 Then RegWrite('HKCU\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\General', 'CdFailCheck', 'REG_DWORD', '1') ; Enable Burn Process Successful Sound. $CdSuccessCheck = 1 If $CdSuccessCheck = 1 Then RegWrite('HKCU\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\General', 'CdSuccessCheck', 'REG_DWORD', '1') ; Enable Short Lead-Out. $ShortLeadOut = 1 If $ShortLeadOut = 1 Then RegWrite('HKCU\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder', 'ShortLeadOut', 'REG_DWORD', '375') PS: Nero 7 Premium already includes all the Plug-Ins except for the 'mp3 pro plugin'.
  17. As far as I know, no one ahs yet figured out how to add the registration for Nero plugins. By the way, Nero 7 Premium already includes all the Plug-Ins except for the 'mp3 pro plugin', thus this is not that important anyhow. PS: I said "as far as I know", so it is possible someone out there might have done it. But, believe me I have searched for quite a long time, without any success.
  18. Everyone to their own. I personally would like to have 'Nero StartSmart' and 'Nero Vision' both, specially the latter one.
  19. Thanks for your efforts. It would be even greater if the silent installer also contained: Nero StartSmart Nero Vision Do you think you could consider building an installer with these: Nero StartSmart Nero Burning Rom Nero Express Nero CoverDesigner Nero WaveEditor Nero Toolkit Nero Vision
  20. Thanks for the suggestions, but it seems like way too much trouble compared to the simpler solution of just adding my own drivers. Of course that means that my unattended DVD is only good for my system, but under the circumstances it seems to be the easiest solution.
  21. Actually my problem is not really solved. The reason being that since it only works for me only after having booted up in safe mode, my unattended DVD no longer remains an unattended DVD not to mention the fact that since now Runonce gets run in Safe mode, that causes it's own problems, since a lot of programs refuse to install themselves under safe mode. Thus for now the only solution for me is to do without any of your driver packs and simply add my own drivers, which by the way does not cause the 'blue screen' and everything works just fine. PS: I am only guessing that the problem might be related to the 'graphics driver (nVidia Forceware)' for all I know it might be because of the nForce4/nForce 4 SLI 16X chipset driver issue.
  22. Upon trying to save the changelog page, for some reason instead of 'Bâshrat the Sneaky's DriverPack Graphics C.mht' the default file name option shows 'Bâshrat the Sneaky's DriverPack Graphics B.mht'. Which is the same as that for 'Graphics B' pack.
  23. Update to the Bluescreen issue.: I used the same DVD to reinstall and as would be expected got the Bluescreen again. This time I noted down the Error message. Apparently the problem is related to the graphics driver. But what I don't understand is why after once booting up in Safe mode the same driver works fine. Also a friend of mine, who used an unattended cd downloaded from the net, had the same problem and he said that it is related to the geForce 6200 graphics card. Since he has the same card that I have it might just be the case. But even then what is still not understandable is why the same driver works fine after once booting up in Safe mode.
  24. Thanks a lot it seems to be working fine. I will post the feedback once I test in a real install.
