  1. @Sunil Thanks for the detailed reply. So what you are saying is that, Norton Antivirus due to it's extra plugins, does a more thorough job protecting against viruses, albeit at the cost of system speed. But should it not be 'Symantec Antivirus' that is more thorough, since as you said the corporates have more "dire" needs. The lack of a nice GUI in a corporate product is totally understandable, but why less protection (I assume that because of less plugins)?
  2. Absolutely brilliant instructions. Perfect example of what a Guide for dummies/newbies should read like. Great work. Thanks a ton.
  3. So what you are saying is that Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition does not scan office documents by default, right? So is there a way to make it so that the documents are scanned by default?
  4. Can't I do that with WinRAR? Can you be more specific regarding the whole procedure including file names and commands to put in my 'start.cmd'. Thanks.
  5. How would I use the original exe file to do a silent install? Using the original file is not the same as extracting the MSI because as I mentioned earlier there is a matter of the difference between 18.4 mb (original exe) compared to 30.5mb (MSI & Data1.cab).
  6. The original file is 18.4 mb, but the msi & data1.cab file add up to 30.5mb Is there no way to use the original exe file to do the silent install?
  7. **** this thing opens fast. Makes you wonder what they were doing wrong in version 6.0 By the way has anyone noticed that the version number displayed in 'About', is 7.9.0, wow that's like almost version 8.0 and this thing is still in beta. Strange, is it not?
  8. Can someone please explain to me the differences between 'Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition' and 'Norton Antivirus 2004'. I have installed and tried both. 'Norton Antivirus' seems to slow down the computer immensely, while 'Symantec Antivrus Corporate Edition' seems to have no effect on the system. Also, when I open documents or spreadsheets in Word and Excel they seem to take much longer to open as it says that 'Norton Antivirus' is scanning the files before opening. But with 'Symnatec Antivirus Corporate Edition' the files take no extra time to open and also it does not say that the files are being scanned. In other words it seems like 'Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition' does nothing at all whereas 'Norton Antivirus' scans and watches everything on the computer which also leads to a major system slow down. Now what I really don't understand is, if 'Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition' provides as good protection as 'Norton Antivirus' without slowing down the system, then why does Symantec/Norton not use the technology of 'Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition' in 'Norton Antivirus Home Edition'.
  9. What I need to know is what are the settings for me to be able to have the Quick Launch bar on the right side (next to the clock) and not on the default left side (next to the Start button). Thanks.
  10. Should the 'taskkill /IM Ad-Aware.exe /F' be listed twice as 'hdavid' has it? It seems that 'ugzkmk' got it working with it mentioned just once. I personally used the following ECHO. ECHO Installing Ad-Aware SE Professional ECHO Please wait... start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\AdAware\aawsepro.exe /s taskkill /IM Ad-Aware.exe /F taskkill /IM hh.exe /F taskkill /IM Ad-Aware.exe /Fand although everything seemed to work fine, the following messages displayed during the install: "Error: taskkill /IM Ad-Aware.exe /F Process Ad-Aware.exe not found Success: taskkill /IM hh.exe /F Success: taskkill /IM Ad-Aware.exe" Also for some reason there were only shortcuts on the desktop for Ad-Aware Professional & Ad-Watch Professional but there was no program group in the Start Menu as you would have normally. Any ideas, why?
  11. So what is the procedure for slipstreaming Intellipoint and Intellitype Pro? Thanks
  12. So what is the procedure for slipstreaming Intellipoint and Intellitype Pro? Can someone please explain the procedure and also give the switches. Thanks
  13. So what is the procedure for slipstreaming Intellipoint and Intellitype Pro? I can't seem to find the working commands in this thread. Also what file to use and how to procure it? Thanks
  14. Simply point to the 'Ethernet\WinXP' directory.
  15. Sorry but that is not correct. It is correct for the 'Forceware 2.45chipset Driver' but it is not so for the 'Forceware 4.24 chipset Driver'. In the case of the 'Forceware 4.24 chipset Driver' there is no 'nvautml.inf' and/or any other '*.inf' file in the 'AudioUtl' directory, there is only a setup.exe file. Therefore the question still remains how does one install the AudioUtil?
  16. Since I cannot attach more than one file to one post I had to have seperate posts. Also since everybody does not need instructions for all the CDs there is no point making one really long text file with instructions for all the CDs in that file. The whole idea of my making these guides is to make them simple and the only way to do that is to keep instructions for all the CDs seperate. All the other posts have been deleted so I'll just leave it at that and incase anyone needs either or all of the following Guides, just PM me. How to Slipstream Office Frontpage 2003 with SP1.txt How to Slipstream Office OneNote 2003 with SP1.txt How to Slipstream Office Project Pro 2003 with SP1.txt How to Slipstream Office Visio 2003 with SP1.txt
  17. How to Slipstream Office 2003 with SP1? I have put togther a simple guide using different sources for help. My reason for doing so was that I found most guides a little complicated and/or lacking in complete info. PM me for the following guides: How to Slipstream Office Frontpage 2003 with SP1.txt How to Slipstream Office OneNote 2003 with SP1.txt How to Slipstream Office Project Pro 2003 with SP1.txt How to Slipstream Office Visio 2003 with SP1.txt How_to_Slipstream_Office_2003_with_SP1.txt
  18. Are you guys sure that DiectX9c is included in SP2? Also I myself don't understand why Microsoft did not include ,NET Framework and Journal Viewer in SP2.
