  1. kevin34 If you want delete unwanted images it's beter to use DIM and just choose Windows 7 Ultimate Image! And it's needed also to keep only one boot.wim file! You need only one "MetaData"! Yes it makes a diifference if the MetaData doesn't math the number of the Image! Because if unwanted Images are deleted, the number isn't the same: At first: <Key>/IMAGE/INDEX</Key> <Value>5</Value> After delete unwanted Images and keep only Windows 7 Ultimate: <Key>/IMAGE/INDEX</Key< <Value>1</Value> To be sure and safely add the correct value, if unwanted Images have been removed it's better to use the example I give you inside my last post!: I use this command with oscdimg.exe, for example: oscdimg.exe -u2 -m -o -lWin7 -b"C:\Win7\boot\etfsboot.com" "C:\Win7" "C:\Win7.iso" Regards
  2. Hello kevin34! I see inside your "Autounattend.xml" two "MetaData", you must need only one! Example: <ImageInstall> <OSImage> <InstallFrom> <MetaData wcm:action="add"> <Key>/IMAGE/NAME</Key> <Value>Windows 7 ULTIMATE</Value> </MetaData> </InstallFrom> </OSImage> </ImageInstall> You can check your file with WSIM to see if errors. Have you delete unwanted Images inside Windows 7 Ultimate?

  7. Mikka! I've made the test and I've disable 3 Features with DISM, on my computer 64-bits based, and all is OK! No errors "Unmounting" and "commit" with the correct "mounted" path for DISM: Example with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bits: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\amd64\Servicing>Dism.exe /mount-wim /wimfile:"C:\Win7\sources\install.wim" /index:4 /mountdir:"C:\test" If there is an error it's needed to Dismount and remount the Image you want! You can see informations inside your computer: "Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log" Regards *Edit: What is your OS installed on your Computer to create your Windows 7 Professional unattended?
  8. Basically, I followed the instructions given in this blog article. By the way, maybe an addition for your tutorial: I noticed that for unknown reasons unmounting of the folder might throw an irritating error (the commit action itself succeeds, though). Got this twice yesterday. My install.wim had been successfully modified and performed well in the VM. Thanks for your informations! About "unmounting", maybe you've used the commands inside my last post! I've made an error inside and I've fixed that! Sorry! I've no trouble with the correct path! Examples for Windows 7 Ultimate. The correct path is for an computer with OS x86 based: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\Servicing>Dism.exe /mount-wim /wimfile:"C:\Win7\sources\install.wim" /index:5 /mountdir:"C:\test" I've forgottten to write correctly and it's an error (fixed inside my last post) : it's not the good one for DISM: missing the correct path for x86 or amd64 C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\Servicing>Dism.exe /mount-wim /wimfile:"C:\Win7\sources\install.wim" /index:5 /mountdir:"C:\test" Change to your needs for amd64 with an computer 64-bits: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\amd64\Servicing>Dism.exe /mount-wim /wimfile:"C:\Win7\sources\install.wim" /index:4 /mountdir:"C:\test" And "unmounting" and "commit": C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\amd64\Servicing>Dism.exe /unmount-wim /mountdir:"C:\test" /commit If we don't want apply the changes (discard): C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\amd64\Servicing>Dism.exe /unmount-wim /mountdir:"C:\test" /discard I will add more informations inside the French guide for DISM. All is fine for me and I've no errors with the correct path! Maybe it's needed different parameters (Like SysWOW64) for computer based 64-bits! I will make some search about this question! I will make tests with my computer 64-bits based and I tell you later! Thanks! Regards
  9. Hello I've seen that some versions aren't deleted by NIS and others are deleted. If you want an older version and you have NIS, keep the one ins't deleted! The last version I've used in the past was WPI 7.2 with no problem with NIS. It's just an advice! Yes, you can use WPI 8.1.0 but you need differents $OEM$ folders: 1) I've tried WPI 8.1.0 with the folder post_$oem$ (RunWPI.inf and cmdlines.txt) successfuly with Windows XP SP3. 2) And for Windows 7 Ultimate I've used "sources folder" with WPI 8.1.0 successfuly! No trouble, no error! Just waiting a few time after the desktop is loaded and WPI starts! Regards
  10. Hello! It's also my case with NIS 2010! You can successfuly download and use post_$oem$.rar for Windows XP, and WPI 8.1.0 The folder $OEM$ include "RunWPI.inf" and "cmdlines.txt"! Windows Post-Install Wizard Works fine for me! Regards
  11. Thanks nanitoboy! About "cmdlines.txt" You don't have because you've don't create autologon and rename admin. I've used nLite 1.4.9.1 with my PC Windows XP Professional upgraded with SP3 and .NET Framewok 3.5. 1) Inside the source folder, named CDXP, I copy my Windows XP Pro SP2 and upgraded SP3 with nLite. 2) I've integrated IE7 3) integration WMP 11 + few updates 4) few updates integration: IE7 updates; WMP updates; Windows Installer 4.5; and some others updates 5) integration Drivers 6) creation folders $OEM$ with "RunWPI.inf" and "cmdlines.txt" inside; and $1; $$; System32 I don't remove any components! I remove only inside I386: WIN9XMIG ; WIN9XUPG ; sp2.cab ; SP2.cat after integration SP3 7) I keep "WINNTUPG" to install the Recovery console during the installation or after! 8) I use WPI 8.1.0 and put my programs inside WPI\Install 9)"cmdlines.txt" is created when I create my account with nLite * If you get errors during integration, it's needed to do all the process and copy an fresh Windows XP inside your source folder! 10) Before create the boot DVD, I open WINNT.SIF to make some changes, like: If you want delete some components you can find some help here: Windows XP nLite Components What Not To Remove For Some Programs 11) I delete the sessions.ini files (or you can cut/paste inside a folder to remember what you've done!) 12) I burn the DVD with Nero 13) I have most programs and I've burn an second DVD including WPI and more programs! And all is fine and my installation is successfuly, also with WPI! I hope that can help you!
  12. Thanks for your advice! The main audiance is useful for me, at first, because sometimes I forgot some tweaks, tips and commands. It's like a book, you know! In six months, I'd be happy to find an explanation that I have forgotten, do not waste time searching and give help for few people interested! Believe me, I read my owns tutorials when I need to refresh my memory!! Yes, I like colors! Btw, how did you find to integrate "HKCU.reg" or reg files, inside wim image? With: reg.exe load and DISM? 18. Thanks Tripedacus! Sorry Mikka for my error about the values inside <ProtectYourPC></ProtectYourPC>!
  19. Mikka! You can make these changes inside your "Autounattend.xml": I think, at this time you don't need "RunAsynchronousCommand". Try without this: Before correct these values, to see if it's OK: Regards
  20. Yes, Work and 3 won't go together! Doesn't match! The NetworkLocation for "Work" the value is "2"! And NetworkLocation for "Other" (like you want) is "3"! Of course if the value isn't correct, you get an error (or the window, for select the NetworkLocation)! Yes, I've seen that WSIM don't display an error for that!!
