  1. Are there are any 32bit DOS/(DOS alternative) extenders out there capable of running non-command line Win32 proggies? If not, I'd even be interested in finding out which *free* 32bit DOS extender is considered the best, if there are any... good ones.
  2. Before I go messing anything up... does anyone know if the RP 9 will work with a "98lited" system setup? And is the link on the first page of this thread updated, and/or where can the latest version be downloaded?
  3. Okay..... Does anyone know how Windows captures the hotkey strokes to bring up the pseudo task manager "close program" dialog? Is there any way to intercept it? On a second note is there a file that is responsible for the dialog, or is there a way to edit my registry to bring up Process Explorer instead of the dialog?
  4. I know this might be a stupid question, but does anyone know if it's possible to remap the ctrl-alt-del hotkey to bring up something other than the "close program" dialog in WinME? I prefer using Process Explorer as opposed to the default dialog, but the last version supported on Windows 9X didn't have a "replace the task manager" option. I want keep the familiarity of ctrl-alt-del for the basic task manager functions, but with Process Explorer.
  5. Could this possibly allow me to run the Quicklink Mobile software for two usb modems I use? (Pantech UM150, and UM175) The dlls complain about needing a newer version of Windows, and this is after manually installing the software and drivers. I looked the software up in Dependancy Walker, but with the exception of the errors reported in the lower pane, I have no idea what this stuff is all about.
  6. Well I didn't have any problems extracting the drivers, but the Alltel (Verizon) Quicklink Mobile Software won't run on Win9x OSes. Have you run your modem on a 9x OS somehow?
  7. Hi here, I'm having a big problem with trying to use my Pantech USB modem on a tri-booting PC of mine. The thing is that it the Alltel software requires a NT based OS to run, and I've been able to install it sucessfully on a Win2k, XP, and Vista environment. It won't allow me to install on a Windows 9x OS though. Is there any way to run the installer, and install the drivers in a Win 9x OS? Maybe through the API like the Cigarette, or KDW does for Win2k?
  8. Does installing Google Chrome as specified above require the KDW package, and does anyone have an English tutorial on how to get programs like Chrome running on Win2k?
  9. Hi, I'm new here, so pardon any dumb questions I may ask. I just recently discovered this idea of backwards compatibility for Win2k users, allowing the use of some programs no longer supported by a vanilla install of Win2k. How would I go about installing either this KDW, Cigarette's, or using the Orca MSI modifier? Are there any tutorials here, or elsewhere that could give a newbie some info? On a side note does anyone here know what the last version of these programs are supported, bug free, using the above wrappers? PAINT.NET, iTunes, and to some who may laugh Internet Explorer?
