  1. Advanced Micro Devices is rumoured to prepare affordable processors for its recently unveiled Socket 939 infrastructure. here @ Xbitlabs P.S.: Is it the right forum to post it?
  2. Advices plz: One of our customer's is getting am MSI KT6-Delta-LSR + Barton 2500+. The customer is a casual gamer. We have two options for him: 1. GeForce 4 MX4000 by Aopen. (This one is particularly plated w/ some noble metal for Anti-corrosion). 2. Radeon 9200SE (note the SE) by Sapphire. Both cards are 64MB & fanless designs. I couldn't get hold on their model nos. though. BTW: What's the difference b/w GeForce 4 MX400 & MX440 & MX4000. P.S: It looks like there's a difference of a cipher .
  3. Oh yeah mazin, you're somewhat right. Today (=Tuesday) I just (casually) talked to her, and have found that a half minute talk can do better to tell you about somebody's personality than weeks of speculations. I'm one of those ppl who can keep the next person in place (if we like to, that is). Aha, now we'll have some serious happenings. And plz note it, I'm a dead non-emotional buddy. She can't really flame my heart. I was just Ooooooh_ing coz I like adventure, and don't really want some matter to stay at rest for long time. Anyways, thanks to xtremeMAC/prathapml & special thanks to mazin (who really told me to take a realistic view of matters), and all others. By your help, I was able to sort out a matter of which I have no experience. Thanks all folks!!
  4. Ooooooooooooooooh, She didn't come today (=Monday). And she never comes on Tuesday. This matter is getting quite a stangnant.
  5. @xtremeMAC: I didn't really get her no. as you warned me. But: what's stalking? Is it slang? I'm famous as stoneheart in my friends coz I even don't look at girls. Anyway, I've a nice plan today (=Monday). Just hope she doesn't go to uni but comes to our institute.
  6. @prathapml: Its Sun, 15th Aug, 6:55AM, so probably your time is 7:55 AM. Maybe you're asleep. Anyway, happy independance day to you too. But it's a pity you are getting your national hol on weekend though. At least we got another leave from work. @mazin: Your right. I'm not turning 180 degrees to be goody-goody. Just minor changes. Anyway I'm one of the mischievous lot. It won't really do it to go all mature in an instant. Good point: Ufone (cell service provider) is giving out free SIMs on 14th, 15th & 16th Aug, in glee of independance day. Its good . And till afternoon maybe I'll have talked to her. Till my contacts get her cell no.
  7. Oh, maybe you're thinking I took it as offensive. No! Actually I think mazin is a realist. Anyway xtremeMAC, I read your post twice. I'm only 17, but you don't know what violence we live in (it's hell). I don't like to remember it, but my bro got kidnapped and killed within 6 hrs by a very loatheable linguistic political party in 1995. One of my friends recived a windows in his right lung in May '04 by a TT bullet fired from only 17". I myself have had many hints of murder. Now that I am always on yellow alert, it is quite normal for me to take every matter with a pinch of salt. I am taking no offense here: it is quite ordinary for you to think of me as mad when I try to say she may be a trap, but you don't know quite too much about my situation. However there's 85% chance she's not a trap, but I can't go w/o being suspicious, that's got to be my second nature. You know: size everybody up. Don't leave/reveal your weakness on anybody. BTW guys, Saturday was national hol. (independance day, prathapml may know it), Sun is weekend. I am trying to get her cell no. and call her, but be very cautious about what to say. (There is not much time, and I want to grab the bull by the horns). So, please suggest me what to say to her. Be back after 12 hrs. Thanks for all you people on your advices. I've never made so long a thread on any forum/BBS.
  8. Esp. to mazin: Sorry ppl, but you seem to think I am a dirty boy. Not so, I live in a hot & humid area, where temperature reaches a big 38 to 43 degrees of C, and sometimes take a shower three times a day. The point I tried to mention is: i don't really take care of my dressing as much as...........ummmm.........executive style ppl........I mean the thing that the eye will catch you out of 1,000 persons just because of your fine taste. So much so of my not being native English-speaking. I am waiting for mazin's comments. However, since I am both in business as well as politics, I know how much distance I have to keep from somebody to keep them in their notch. But now there's something very fishy (read: political) going on under there, and I am going to trigger my intelligence for the following two days. She might as well be a trap against me. For somebody asking me what happened on Friday: It was a bit of tease game. I noted her another six times trying to catch my eye, but I didn't really want to give her a positive message so early (if you have read the above sentences) so I kept wary of her eye/face. But a classmate of mine got really furious with me TWO times. But now I'll find out know if she's being used (as a trap), I'll make her into loving me. Even if I've no interest in gals, I loce my life. And to think of so cute a girl being used as the worm (the fishing-line, remember). Disgusting; anyway, its my suspicion/paranoia. P.S: I've just got my dressing better. Although I changed clothes everyday, yesterday I wore a perfume too.
  9. All right folks, Its 6:31 AM here. I'll be taking my first class @ abt 9 AM. Lets see what happens. Plz I don't understand the slang you ppl are using: what's boogie/zit etc? Also, aresgodofwar, if my life is loved by me, I must maintain a dist. of 15" from her body. Its social pressure.
  10. It looks ridiculous. Although I don't take take any interest in gals (oh ppl, by no way I am gay ), I just noted the hottest gal in my class was looking @ me the 11th time the same day. I just ignored her coz I know how to bounce the pressure caused by eye contact, so I can make my face expressionless (P.S: politics teached ya everything). I dunno what to make of it. I have really no interest in gals. I take no care of dressing. I do not comb my hair and by no means try to appear good-looking. I do nothing to improve my behaviour and constantly keep passing comments upon the teacher. Altogether, I dunno what was she looking at. Just don't know what to do.
  11. I asked these questions before, and somebody really answered me, but I've been unable to: Convert the movies and audio tracks of 'need for speed' series into formats playable in windows media player or winamp. Also, in help WMP9 tells that it supports .ASF but I am getting a msg of 'format not supported' when I try to run these files in it. So far, other tools such asftools 3.10 also have been unable to recognize the format. Maybe it is some proprietary format of EA to which they have assigned the common extension of .ASF. Also, .VIV is very old format and I am unable to find any tools for it. I got a link but the server is always down. P.S: Could somebody tell me how slow my system would get after slipstreamed WinXP SP2 install. It got much slower after SP1a already. _______________________ ;config.tXt ;30.07.2004 ;23:19 PST Graphic Card: Matrox Millenium G200 AGP Model #: Just ain't feeling like unscrewing to look inside............. 12. Hey xtreme, are you the admin?? Anyway, this ain't my sig. It starts where I've put down my name, Ahsan. That's my config, and you may note I post it only once in a thread. The next time I do with only the sig. That's coz you may see I live in a country w/ low bandwidth, and 2.44 KB/s peak download rate. Its a real pain going all through those pages to post my config again if somebody asks abt it. Each page on MSFN takes me abt 10secs. I'm sure I've cleared my point/
  13. Since pratha has started this thread: How long would it take you to download SP2 (say if its abt 100MB). It should be smaller than the RC2 since there would be lesser debug tools. I remember when I downloaded SP1. Its 125MB and since I use dial-up & cannot connect for much time so I used a download manager. Just downloaded for one hour a day and disconnected. In this way I had the SP1 in two weeks . Maybe if its released today (Aug 5th has started here in Pakistan, and New York is 9 hrs behind us), then most probably I'll have SP2 by September. Although also of the security features, my main concern is that it will install latest diredtX, win msngr, WMP9 and other by default. As you ppl may see, my config should take lots of time in file extraction, its a pain to install all these things one-by-one. __________________ ;config.tXt ;30.07.2004 ;23:19 PST Graphic Card: Matrox Millenium G200 AGP Model #: Just ain't feeling like unscrewing to look inside............. 14. Many games I own such as the Need for Speed series has its demos, trailers, movies etc. in .BNK and .QFS format. Is there any way I can convert the videos to MPG-4 and audios to .WMA since I want to listen to them by ripping on CD. (My car's got a CD player). P.S.: I already know how to use RAD Game tools to convert .BIK into MPG-4. Apparently .BNK is some other format unsupported by RAD. _____________________ ;config.tXt ;30.07.2004 ;23:19 PST Graphic Card: Matrox Millenium G200 AGP Model #: Just ain't feeling like unscrewing to look inside............. 15. Maybe that's coz of the dust. Its far easier for dust to settle down on components if there's upside up. 16. So WD's finally answered: __________________ Response (Craig C.) I apologize but Western Digital does not offer an .ISO file to create our software on a CD. The only version of our Data Lifeguard v11 installation software for DOS must be installed onto a floppy diskette. This can be downloaded from the direct link below. http://support.wdc.com/download/dlg/dlg11_dos.exe
  17. I work at a computer systems/network installation business. The problem is: Seagate has DiscWizard & Matrox have MaxBlast. I just can't find any self-bootable .ISO image on the WD Website which I can download and burn directly to a CD. Its a real pain to format a 40GB using fdisk.eXe. Also, fdisk doesn't support bigger HDs. WD's Data LifeGuard Tools 11.0 do have a partitioning utility, but you must have a working system along with Windows to make it work, which isn't really available at all sites. I tried sending this mail to WD tech support but all I got was auto-response from the server that my query isn't forwarded to the tech support dept since I can get my answers from the following (links were given @ bottom of page) pages. _______________________________________ ;config.tXt ;30.07.2004 ;23:19 PST Graphic Card: Matrox Millenium G200 AGP Model #: Just ain't feeling like unscrewing to look inside............. 22. The best time to buy an AMD64 system may be Feb '05, alongwith PCI-E and a Win64 OS. Some linuxes are already available, such as SuSe 9.1. Also, AMD does not have DEP, it has NX. The thing is same: the registered trademark or what else is different. Right now Intel is also going XD (again the same thing but different name) with their E0 Prescott (the xxxJ series). NX/XD/DEP protect from buffer overruns, but the OS must support it, the upcoming Windows XP SP2 will. So if you see viruses, NX isn't at fault, OS is. For a normal user who plays music, uses office and the net, even a Celeron 300 MHz would prove an overkill. Who is talking about grandad? However, working at a PC repair store, installation time matters me/cleint the most. Since time=money. The best thing a home user would get from any AMD system is a faster install time. AND mind it: I am no crazy AMD fan. The credit of faster install does NOT go to AMD. Its because of the faster chipset interconnect, that taiwanese manufacturers e.g nVidia, VIA, SIS employ in their designs. I have tries many Intel 845s, 865s and they take more than thrice the time for a complete HDD to HDD install, than a grandpa's times old technology like the VIA KM400. If I go out today to buy a new PC, I'd buy an Athlon XP, and up it to Athlon 64 around Feb '05 as I told you ppl. Just because I detest a Prescott. Look here: http://www.intel.com/design/pentium4/specupdt/30235203.pdf But I am going for a second hand, and it will be a Tualatin 512. Times keep changing for companies, and consumer should see his own benefit.
