  1. You can use it from ASP. You need the MySQL Connector/ODBC and the proper conenction string. see http://www.mysql.com/products/connector/odbc/ And yes, you can always port the data to another database type of your choice if you'd rather do that.
  2. Because the normal winrar works fine and looks better?
  3. Same here. Firefox all the way. Maxthon doesn't even compare.
  4. Make sure your paths and filenames are correct, and that the bacthfile is actually getting executed. I use xcopy a lot and it never fails.
  5. That isn't true. There ARE solutions other than moving to server directly - although server ed is a better option in many cases. You can also install the developper edition (works on xp pro too). If that's not an option for you, then there's always sql expres/msde, mysql and such... About the limitations of IIS on 2k pro (same as XP Pro / IIS 5.1), you can edit your metabase (with metaedit 2.2, free from microsoft) to a number less than 40 and it'll work. There is also a utility (vbscript) to do it. (the thing is, most web browsers will open more than one socket... so it's still not quite 29 users, more like 10-20 simultaneously - enough for low traffic or a testing server) As for the virtual sites, some (free) 3rd party control panels/utilities will let you add more.
  6. You could easily do it in vbscript in several ways... -Filesystem object (collection; objFolder.SubFolders ... best way imho) -dir and testing if it's a directory (i like fso better) -FindFirstFile (bleh...) You'd also have to test not to copy to LocalService and NetworkService, and have some basic error handling and such. You could do something similar in other languages (perhaps even with for %%a in *.* type of deal in .bat/.cmd too if you get creative) I'm sure there are other ways to this as well. Anyways, it's definately possible, it's actually quite basic scripting,
  7. Any reason why this is posted in "Unattended Windows"?
  8. ... Just like I had posted right at the beginning
  9. like i said... the patched lmclient.dll is a very popular crack around the web. he has trial links because he uses a trial key - then applies a patched DLL... eh
  10. Honestly I don't use any of those blockers, nor do I bother about a filtering proxy anymore. The only thing I still do is have a small hosts file to block a couple ads (my 1.5mb hosts file i had made gave me some issues ) - just a few manual entries. Ever since I use firefox (along with sun jvm, and I don't install junk software) , I hardly ever get anything other than cookies when i scan. IE is the biggest issue, followed by the microsoft jvm. That will get rid of 99% of the issues by itself.
  11. You can launch it just like if it was a normal exe (or you could use a api call or 3rd party app to start the default screensaver too)
  12. I used these lines for setup.cmd The unattended.mst file is made by Custom Installation Wizard under MSO2003 toolkit. Works just fine for me. Hope you can apply it.the trial stuff doesn't need to be deleted if you have a retail serial no (unlike the key you should not have posted btw). copying a cracked lmclient.dll isn't necessary if you don't use a warez version. moderators?
  13. VLK=Volume License Kit. They don't give that to individuals or small companies. Yours isn't. Sorry, you just have to activate them...
  14. Many ways around this... Since you have a license for Win XP and a legit key... "borrowing" the CD from someone might be ok? (I don't see why it would not be legit, having paid for it already) Else, you can use programs like ghost to make an image of it as is. (that would fit on a single bootable DVD to restore it, as is, and in no time at all) backing up the files as is won't work.
  15. I don't know what it is with webcams but... Mine is sort of a PITA too. If it's plugged in - windows setup will hang at 35 mins left no matter what (it's an iBot USB2 webcam). I leave it unplugged and install it later
  16. spysweeper also has something like this.
  17. Yes, it does install faster (unless you got an old and slow DVD drive). Other than that, a lot more space too, but nothing else differs.
  18. Oh well. Perhaps I won't be waiting for the final then to try v1 then, I just don't have that patience. I guess I'll have to see if most plugins work with it now or else stick to v0.9.3 for longer
  19. I thought that's what the timeline said... Or maybe it'll come out on my b'day tomorrow (now, THAT would be funny - and a nice gift).
  20. And so far the efnet one is dead too. Not a single join yet. I guess I'm starting to realize why the other one was removed too. Looks like nobody IRCs anymore these days, all younger people seem to have moved on to IM's and such.
  21. You can, but I don't know if I'd want to waste money on MCE 2005... Lots of products like that, and they all fail to deliver, but perhaps I'm just expecting too much.
