  1. Go Mozilla. Firefox all the way. I don't even use IE anymore after finding out about tabbed browsing. Opera has that annoying ad on top, and it's a bit weird. Mozilla is good for Linux Users. IE is not W3C-compliant, so it's not that good. However, I think that of all browsers. Safari is the best. It has an oh-so-pretty GUI, is as secure as Firefox, and has tabbed browsing. Apple should port Safari to PC, but, of course, that's never going to happen. Apple wants people to buy Apples. I bet the next version of IE will have tabbed browsing, since all these other browsers have tabbed browsing.
  2. Bigtime nasties. I hate viruses. They are such a pain. I hope that you can get your system fixed.

    Hello

So people around here actually read this Forum? That is the weirdest thing.
  4. I'll go with the rest of most of the posters here. I own an XBox and here is why I chose it over the PS2 (I didn't know the difference in gaming and graphics resolution): The XBox didn't have built-in DVD support, but the PS2 did. However, if you buy the attachment, you can have the remote on PS2. They both costed about the same. The controller on the PS2 is the original one, with two sticks, one of which is rarely used. I thought that the XBox had a cooler controller I was told by the salesman that XBoxes last longer. An XBox had that line break in the middle of the controller so that if you pull on it too hard, you disconnect the controller and pause your game, rather than have your system fall down. XBox has a hard drive. None of that memory card stuff. 8GB is plenty for even the most diverse gamer.

I really don't know how to help you here. You said that you reinstalled Windows XP Pro. Did you format your hard drive before doing that? If not, try that. If it still continues, try reformatting your hard drive and not installing your game. If the computer works like a charm, then it is definitely your game. I find that a lot of programs that used old Windows don't work on XP (home or pro).
  6. As to spam, I think everyone is overreacting. Sure, spam is a bad thing, but you can delete it before even looking at it. It only takes a few mouse clicks. Now what we should be worried are all those coupons and "Buy 10 pizzas and get 1 free" deals that we can find in our real mailboxes. It takes much more energy to throw those away. Plus, you actually have to look through them to make sure that your bills aren't there.
  7. Well, unless this is the first time it does that, I think it is normal. Many [older] PC's ask you to press the Power Button to completely shut it off, even after shutting it down.
