  1. Hi ! @ScOOt3r: run the msi that way for instance: @all:Thanks for the mst. Works fine also on the German version. KAV does not reboot after installation. However, on the first reboot after the installation, KAV will cause windows to reboot without warning and then afterwards still claim that a reboot is necessary. So you have to reboot twice after installation just for KAV. Cool program, hah ? Also, the post install wizard does not come up and I think, the new version just completely broke my Windows installation on my Sony Vaio SZ notebook. At least thats the last thing I installed. It worked fine before but after the reboot I cannot do anything anymore in Windows. I am locked out of the network, I cannot start KAV config or any other program, I cannot disable the services, I cannot deinstall KAV anymore, Windows simply does not react anymore to any userinput. reboots did not help and since the MSI installer obviously does not work in safe mode I cannot uninstall KAV there either so after wasting hours I decided to completely reinstall Windows. Just to warn some of you that this version may not be that stable on some configs. (works fine on my desktop PC though) Bye, Alex
  2. Hi ! Yeah, a mst file would be better if possible because then it could be used on other language versions besides english and it could possibly be used for future builds. But thanks anyway ! Alex
  3. Hi ! No, guys ... this is not that easy in this case. Svenby is right. I have been trying the beta versions and they all simply ignored all the noreboot or REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS switches. I have opened a topic in the Kaspersky Betaforum but Kaspersky said that this is a home user version and does not make use of those switches See this thread. I would also like to know a solution. I already had a look at the msi using Orca. It has the REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS property set to 1 already but it still reboots after silent installation. I am still using KAV 5 because of this stupid limitation. I guess Kaspersky wants us to buy the more expensive workstation edition but I refuse to do that Any ideas besides using vbs/autoit scripts ? Bye, Alex
  4. Hi tcsenter ! I usually don´t post in threads like these because it does not change much and mostly ends in people flaming each other. I see it this way: Every product on a forum like this is semiprofessional at the most. That is no judgment on the quality of the product, just my personal observation. These products fill a void that companies do not cater to. I don´t know many people who make their own unattended Windows installation media, this subject is certainly not for a person who has no knowledge and/or is not interested in knowing whats going on during installation. So to me this is not about either paying for somebody to do this for you or do it yourself. In my opinion you donate for the effort someone has made to make it easier for you but you do not pay for a product that comes with a guarantee to work. If this product would be sold with any sort of guarantee you might have a point but it doesn´t. In my opionion, Bashrat should not be bothered to answer to a thread like this, it just takes time, probably makes him feel bad and it does not server any purpose at all. I wish you the very best of luck for studying and learning how to integrate all those drivers and for gathering and updating them on a regular basis. You will probably find out that the 25.- you donated do not even cover 5% of the time you will spend on this. Bye, Alex
  5. Hi Bashrat, I found another problem with driver installation on this notebook: The Sigmatel HD Audio driver included in your driverpack installs just fine but there is no audio ;-) If I have a look in the Audio and Multimedia control panel, Windows reports that no audio card is installed although the Sigmatel High Definition Audio Codec appears just fine in the device manager. If I manually install the driver supplied by Sony, everything is fine. I have uploaded that driver to my webspace here If you have some time, could you have a look and maybe find out why it does not work with the Sigmatel codec in your driverpack ? the Hwids are attached in the first post. As for the KB888111 patch, I integrated that one manually using the /integrate switch. As you can see on the picture attached, this seems to work differently to your integration. In the picture you can see two ca_ files. Those are from the driverpacks installation. All the other files are from the manual integration. I don´t know if this assumption is correct, but it seems like your integration process is missing the actual exe files and only integrated the cat files. Maybe thats why it did not work ? Looking forward to your next driverpack builds !! Bye, Alex
  6. Hi Tommy, I understand. I can do that once of course but what happens next time I want to slipstream an update. Would I have to recreate everything from scratch each time I slipstream an update ? I don´t know how others do that but for me this sounds a bit tedious .. ? Anyway, thanks for your quick reply ! Bye, Alex
  7. Hi ! I am trying HFSLIP for the first time, so please be patient I just have a quick question: I already have a unattended install DVD that has Bashrats driverpacks intergrated. That means there are txtsetup.sif and txtsetup.old and winnt.sif and winnt.old files in there. The SVCPACK folder contains two files: KB888111.ca_ and KB892559.ca_ probably from Bashrats driverpacks too. I used this I386 folder as a source for HFSLIP. I am merely into slipstreaming all the post SP2 updates, nothing else. Will this work or will I run into problems if for instance I update the driverpacks in the future ? I guess it means: do you write to txtsetup and winnt.sif files and does the KB888111 slipstreaming process that Bashrats driverpacks are doing causing any problems with the HFSLIP process ? Thanks for your help ! Alex
  8. Hi ! Yep, thats true :-) Btw. new drivers 10.1.1.3
  9. Hey Bashrat, nothing, really ;-) My DVD is actually complete, all of my changes happen after runonceex, simple updates etc. The driverpacks slipstreaming process is the only thing that changes anything in the i386 dir ... Mhh ...
  10. Hi Bashrat, no I did not change any of those files, I am not even using svcpack.inf, I am integrating all updates during runonceex using the /quiet /passive /norestart switches.
  11. Hi Bashrat, no I did not modify it. I mean, not the driverpacks part ... or what could cause this problem ? By the way, I just tried a second unattended installation with WLAN on and the Intel WLAN drivers did not install either. I am sure you have the INTEL WLan part covered in the WLAN driverpack. Could you please add the hwid to your wlan driverpack ? Thanks !!! Bye, Alex
  12. ah I see, thanks for your answer. So in order to use 888111 Bashrat would have to add the hwid to the driverpacks I guess. Bashrat: could you do that please ? If you have some time ... thanks !
  13. Hi Bashrat, if you have some time ... I got myself a new notebook, tried an installation using the latest driverpacks but had a few problems: 1. When using the integrated GMA950 graphics (notebook has switchable graphics) during installation, the HW installation wizard came up during Windows setup wanting to install the Plug and Play monitor driver. 2. The UAA Bus driver did not get installed. The strange thing is, the notebook came with the the kb835221.exe UAA driver installer, not with the KB888111 installer. Is that the same thing ? If not, whats the difference between those drivers ? Seemingly both contain the UAA drivers. Using the kb835221 patch worked fine. I attached the hwids.txt. It would be nice if you could also integrate the ids for the Sigmatel Audio in case they are not yet included. Thanks ! Alex
  14. Hi ! I have run into a strange problem lately which makes me wonder at what time the next entry in the runonceex registry key is being processed. Does Windows read the next entry when it is the next one the list or does it read all of them into RAM at the beginning of the process ? It must be the latter because somehow all changes to the runonceex entries that are done while the runoncex process has already started are being ignored. The reason why I would need to process runonceex keys during the runonceex process is simple: I am trying to check for the existence of a server. If it is there, I want to mount a share, change the drive letters in all the runonceex entries to that share (instead of cdrom) so the programs are installed from the share instead of CD. Now, I cannot for the life of it get a share mounted during the T12 stage (when runonceex entries are created) ... I tried numerous times. I guess some service is not started yet at that time. So my alternative idea was to run a cmd as the first entry in runonceex that checks for the server and then changes the remaining runonceex entries: if exist \\SERVER\media\Einstellungen\LogonScript\logon.cmd copy /Y \\SERVER\media\Einstellungen\LogonScript\logon.cmd %SYSTEMROOT% if exist "%SYSTEMROOT%\logon.cmd" start /wait "" "%SYSTEMROOT%\logon.cmd" ping -n 5 127.0.0.0.1>nul SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx IF EXIST M:\Installation\AIW4\Setup\Wihu\wihu.exe SET CDROM=M:\Installation\AIW4 IF EXIST M:\Installation\alexinstall1.ini REG ADD %KEY%\050 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Setup\Wihu\wihu.exe /INI=M:\Installation\alexinstall1.ini /AutoInstall=999 /beep=4 /NoCancel /NoRestartChange /SkipSettings /UseCurrent /SkipRestart /HasGaps /NoAbort" /f IF EXIST M:\Installation\alexinstall2.ini REG ADD %KEY%\051 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Setup\Wihu\wihu.exe /INI=M:\Installation\alexinstall2.ini /beep=4 /NoCancel /NoRestartChange /HasGaps /NoAbort" /f etc. Now, the problem is .... if I check the registry after the script has run, those entries are correctly changed eg. from drive E to M. However, it still does not work !!! Programs continue to run from CD and the registry entries seem to get ignored. edit: Just as an explanation: The last two entries already exist in the registry but with slightly different paths etc. If I call the above script, they get changed but the outcome is the same as if the keys had not been changed at all. This is so strange. My only explanation for this is that all runonceex keys are read into ram at the beginning of the process and are not being processed one by one. Is this the case ? What else could I do in my situation ? Any ideas ? Thanks, Alex
  15. Hi Bashrat, best way would probably be to offer a choice between both (either offer 2 versions of the DP for download or implement a choice during integration). However, I know this means more work for you and you probably don´t want to do that. Other than that I vote for the CCC because it is the way ATI wants to go so sooner or later the older CP will be gone and/or new options will be offered in the CCC only. As for the need to integrate the NetFramework ... there are many more programs requiring that so I don´t understand why someone would not integrate it. After all it causes no problems ...
  16. yeah, very strange the whole thing .... The 84.20 are beta as far as I can see ....
  17. Hi Bashrat, new official WHQL driver is out: 84.15 Bye, Alex
  18. Hi everyone, I posted a similar topic on this before, the reason for not reusing it is that it was about SBS and I then realized that R2 is not available for SBS yet. Unfortunately I was not able to change the topic title so I thought I might open a new topic on this. Is it somehow possible to integrate R2 into an unattended server 2003 CD ? The R2 comes as a second CD and contains a CMPNENTS and ADMIN folder. Simply copying the folders to the first CD does not seem to change anything. Any ideas ? Thanks a lot ! Alex
  19. Hi Bashrat, actually, this was not the real solution. I am now getting a STOP error (bluescreen) on each bootup. I can only get Windows to load in safe mode. I am a bit lost here. I tried deactivating all components like audio/LAN in den bios, I tried updating the chipset drivers (the Intel installer did not do anything though), I disabled the promise SATA drivers etc ... nothing helps. Seemingly it was not the nvidia card alone that causes problems. Could it be that the wrong chipset drivers or massstorage drivers got installed ? Installing Windows without any driverpacks works fine. I have attached the hwids and the board is the Asus P4GPL-X which is a bit odd because it is a Intel 915 chipsetboard for an 478 socket CPU. Never had any of those problems with other computers but seemingly something does not work right with the driverpacks on this board. Any ideas ? Any way I can troubleshoot this ? edit: maybe it is some sort of incompatibility issue between the Promise controller and the Hauppauge card. I am now testing without the promise. seems to work better ... I will post an update once I find out more. Thanks, Alex
  20. Hi Bashrat, when I installed my new second pc yesterday, the driver installation wizard appeared during the runonceex phase wanting to install drivers for the Geforce 7300 card. I directed the wizard to the D folder and it found and installed the drivers but it did not do so automatically. Using latest driverpacks a,b,c. edit: seems like the 81.98 driver included in the driverpack does not yet support the GF7300 chip. Strange that Nvidia did not come up with a new offical driver that supports it. I just installed the card on another system and did an installation using the driverpacks and I got a STOP bluescreen after the second reboot. I then booted into safemode, installed the newest 84.12 betadriver and that was the solution. The bad things is that seemingly some wrong driver got installed which caused the bluescreen. The card was detected as a Geforce G72 (see pics) Thanks, Bye, Alex
  21. Hi ! So far I have been successfull in creating a WinXP unattended installation. I am thinking I might be ready for something new now ... Is there a way to integrate 1) all of the SP1 parts of SmallBusinessServer into SBS ? 2) R2 of Win2003 server into SBS too ? I know one can probably slipstream the Win2003 SP1 successfully but how about the other parts of the SP1 install like exchange SP1 and SBS SP1 ? I did some more searching, seems like there will be a separate R2 of SBS released next quarter and the current R2 is only for Windows server 2003. Also I was able to get my hands on an SBS version with integrated SP1 so my questions are more or less answered. I would still like to know how R2 can be slipstreamed/integrated into an unattended Windows Server DVD. Would I have to just copy the 2folders (ADMIN and CMPNENTS) next to the I386 folder ? There does not seem to be any installer for R2. How would I be able to integrate R2 ? mhh ... Ah, and maybe someone can tell me if there is an uptodate list of patches that need to be integrated into server after SP1 without resorting to Micrsosoft Update ? Thanks for your help, guys. Alex edit: sorry if those questions have been asked before. I did a search for release2 or R2 but nothing came up.
  22. Hi Ryan, yeah, sounds logical. But Intel does not have any processor driver as far as I know. I wonder how many Intel users will actually add the switch manually ... Bye, Alex
  23. Hi Bashrat, yeah, thats about it. The only question remaining for me is if this switch is also necessary for Intel dualcore machines. I would say yes but we would need someone with an Intel dualcore to check if any kind of stuttering videos, games etc. is being reduced by adding the switch. edit: Bashrat: There may be boot.ini´s with more than one Windows XP entry and boot.ini´s on other partitions except C: so you might need to take those situations into consideration if you haven´t done so already. Thanks for your help !!! Bye, Alex
