  1. Mhh, so that means we can no longer create a universal driverdisc with up to date drivers but instead have to create one for Nforce4 users and another for the rest ? I hope bashrat finds a way around that. I really hate Nvidia for making it that difficult. Maybe it would be possible to load a compatible driver during the textsetup phase and later on (during runonceex etc.) check the actual chipset used through some kind of tool and update the driver at that time with the proper one. I was doing something similar (though very basic) with ffdshow. There were times where there were different ffdshow versions for different CPUs (or at least it was recommended to use different versions due to different compilers used). I therefore used the tool CHKCPU.EXE to write a small log during installation, searched that log for "AMD" using findstring and then installed a different version of ffdshow depending on the outcome. Of course this was just a very basic approach, it may be more difficult to find a reliable way to detect the chipset (although I think WMI could do that ? I don´t know much about that) but it could be a solution ... What do you guys think ? Bye, Alex
  2. Hi ! yeah, I did read that thread but it does not give me that much information as to why the old IDE driver is being used. Whats wrong with the new one ? Bye, Alex
  3. Hi guys, yeah, this thing is dangerous. I deinstalled it already, it did corrupt files on download !!! I read about this some time ago but this was like half a year ago or so, I thought Nvidia would have corrected that ??? Rogue: What about the Sygate firewall ? Have been using it without any problems for years. I know it was bought by Symantec so sooner or later we would need something new but at least for now it does work fine, no ? Whats wrong with the Nvidia nic ? Should I rather use the marvell nic ? Fortunately I have two nics onboard but the second is connected to the PCI bus so I´d rather keep using the nvidia nic. Bye, Alex
  4. Hi Bashrat ! Is there any reason why you don´t include the NVidia firewall similar to Graphics control panels or audio control panels ? Would be nice ... Thanks, Alex
  5. Hi Bashrat, well I finally got myself an Nforce 4 board (Asus A7N SLI Premium) even though I never wanted to get one because of the drivermess that Nvidia seems to have with their chipset drivers. Anyway, installation went fine (except for the missing Ati CCC that I wrote about in the DP Graphics subforum) but if I compare the latest sata_ide driver version from the Nvidia 6.70 pack for the Nforce AMD chipsets with the sata_ide driver that is included in your latest massstorage pack it seems like yours is a bit old The one from the 6.70 pack is DriverVer=08/18/2005,5.10.2600.0552 and the one in your pack is still DriverVer=05/17/2005,5.10.2600.0534. I guess I can simply exchange the driver files until you update your driverpack or is there a good reason why you kept the older drivers ? By the way ... Nvidia seems to have newer driver versions available for the Intel chipsets. I guess we cannot just use them for the AMD chipsets ? Thanks ! Bye, Alex
  6. Hi Bashrat, mhh, got my new system a few days ago and reinstalled Windows but somehow the ATI CCC did not get installed. Using DP 6.01 of course. I set the Net Framework (1.1 and 2.0) to install at runonce with the nr. 000 and the driverpacks are being installed at 001 so that should work right ? Using M1. Ati X1600XT card. Strange .... BYe, Alex
  7. Hi Bashrat, can you please add the JMicron JMB360 SATA2 drivers to the driverpack ? Also, will there be a new pack soon ? Thanks ! Thanks, Alex
  8. Hey doc ! Can you post that script please ? I guess you use BartPE and start setup from there ? Where do you put that script ? In the autostart folder or run regkey ? Thanks, Alex
  9. Hi prathapml, wow, thanks for that tip. I will try that soon and let you know how it worked. Great tip ! Thanks, Alex
  10. Thanks Iceman for that info. At least a workaround, although it would be cleaner if the serial entered in the mst could be used. But again, thanks ! Alex
  11. Hi svgusta, I check with RockXP. It displays your microsoft product keys you used for installation. well, in order to create an install point one has to use a serial and this one is being used all the time instead of the one in the mst. How do you change the GUID in the mst ? The custom install wizard does not ask for any guid ?? (see pic) Could you please explain ? I don´t want this to be machine specific, I want the product key in the mst to be used for all the machines I install this on after all it is a VLK ... Thanks, Alex
  12. Hi guys, I was wondering if it is possible to change the Office 2003 key of an administrative installation point through the means of an MST created with the Custom Installation Wizard. Somehow I can´t get it to work. I have an adminpoint ready which I would like to use for another contact so I would need to change the key. There is a possibility to enter a key in the custom installation wizard, however it does not seem to do anything because after an installation, the key is still the one entered when creating the admin installpoint. Is there any way to change that key later on or would I have to recreate a new installpoint each time ? This is a bit of a drag including all the updates all the time etc. I´d rather have one install point that can be adapted for different setups by using different mst´s ? Thanks for your help ! Bye, Alex PS: Is there a way to change the serial after installation somehow using a script or something ?
  13. MHh, I am not sure, I heared that it is for end users, after all thats no the sdk but the end user redist. Bye, Alex
  14. Hi ! Yeah, yet another DirectX thread. Sorry, I did a search but seemingly there is no way to install the directx redist silently ? Mhh, there is a new redist available here. Or the German version which I would need here Is there any way to install this silently on WinXP SP2 ? Thanks for your help ! Alex
  15. Hi guys, I did a quick search but nothing really came up so I am opening a new topic for this. I am looking for a way to change user registry settings and user files for all existing users on a machine. Say I am installing Net Transport on a machine that already has user profiles and I want to change the default downloadpath for each user. Net Transport stores that info in the user registry hive (HKEY_CURRENT_USER) so for the user installing the software there is no problem. But how would I go about editing the registry of each existing userprofile ? Somehow I would need a script that checks how many userprofiles exist in the Profiles directory and then load each ntuser.dat seperately and make the change ... or is there an easier way ? Thanks for your help !! Maybe someone already solved that problem ?? Bye, Alex
  16. Hi ! Yeah, it would be wise to go with the CCC since the newer X1x cards cannot be used with the old control panel anymore at least thats what I heared ... don´t have such a card YET ... BYe, Alex
  17. Hi Bashrat, oh I see. Well if it is possible to do that without breaking the WHQL and if you feel like doing it, please do, otherwise I can live without it. Well, the update driver process is not so good if you need to downgrade the driver, also sometimes if something gets broken in the driver, a complete deinstall is necessary. Happens sometimes with multimonitor configurations (at least it has happened to me quite a few times already). Updating the driver does not help in such a situation. Thanks ! Alex
  18. Hi Bashrat, the thing that always strikes me when installing Windows using your driverpack graphics (nvidia driver) is that the nvidia driver cannot be uninstalled using the software control panel anymore. Usually if you install an nvidia driver you can later uninstall it there. Do you somehow drop that feature from the drivers ? Why ? It is a good thing to have. Driver cleaner professional does not correctly uninstall the driver if it wasn´t deinstalled correctly using the control panel. Maybe for your next update ! Thanks, Alex
  19. Hi Bashrat, you asked me for the driver files back in May (I think) after you released the last version of the driverpack, remember ? Yes, I own a M-Audio delta card, the driverfiles are located inside the temp directory after installation. I did not find any other way to extract them from the archive but they are the genuine drivers from the M-audio site, you can trust me on that I hope you will integrate them into the driverpack ! Bye, Alex
  20. Hi guys, well yeah, the easiest way would be a multibootDVD, and I know that CDimage will cut down on size. Nevertheless those files take space on harddisc even though more than 99% of the files are the same. Also, what if I am integrating something like Bashrats driverpacks? I would like to avoid using different $OEM$ folders for each windows installation. Can I share one $OEM$ folder between installations ? @Bezalel: I didn´t know there are scripts that can change a product key after installation. Didn´t Microsoft change that after SP1 ? Are there scripts available that would do that ? I am not that good in scripting Bye, Alex
  21. Hi guys, well thanks for your help ! Actually I did a search. The only difference between corp and retail versions I was able to find was the different numbers in setupp.ini. I did not find another reference to additional files. Anyway, this does not help much yet. Since I am installing from DVD directly, I would have to create a multibootDVD with two seperate installations, one corp, one retail just for that small difference ... I cannot think of any other way thats why I posted here. C01eMaN: what do you mean by copy files to hd ? I mean if Windows installs from DVD directly how can you do that or how do you install ? Thanks, Alex
  22. Hi everyone ! I am using an unattended disc for work where we use a corporate windows version using a VLK key. However, sometimes we would like to use that disc for retail windows versions also. I would like to avoid adding a complete second Windows XP installation to that disc ig, a second i386 folder containg the retail XP setup files. However a retail key doesn´t work for the corporate edition so what are my options ? Any ideas ? That would be really nice ! Thanks ! Bye, ALex
  23. Hi Bashrat, i may have made a mistake integrating the driverpacks today but the D folder did not get deleted after installation although I am pretty sure I pressed "n" at the end of the integration process as usual I used method 1 ... Anyway, here´s another suggestion for you ... during the whole integration process one has press any kind of button to proceed to the next step. However, when the last step begins, one has to be careful to use either the r or the g key to proceed correctly. Now sometimes I am not that careful and instead of using those keys I accidentally hit anyother key. This stops the integration process and leaves you with a half integrated driverpack. Wouldn´t it be possible to catch wrong key inputs during the last step phase and just keep the script going until the right keys are being pressed ? I am sure it won´t be that hard and it would help some quick fingers like mine Thanks ! Alex
  24. Hi Bashrat, yeah, please don´t forget the new M audio Delta drivers. I have uploaded them again onto my website. Thanks, Alex
  25. Mhh ... all you guys using custom made mst´s to transform the installation ... have you ever tried uninstalling Nero ? Because you probably can´t ! At least not when using the new downloadable demo version. I am staying with version 6 for the time being Bye, Alex
