  1. To GreenMachine, Yes I've read your EULA and the post here. I just wanted to let you know where it was causing the problem.
  2. XPCTEST Report OS : WindowsXP Professional OS LANGUAGE : Japanese OS Version : Service Pack 2 (SP2) CD Drv Letter: J: I. Test1 Pre-Test : No modifications to any of the files were done. Objective : To see if it works correctly using the CD Drive as the CDSOURCE(source). Result : 1. First XPCREATE.CMD run creates the initial directory structure. 2. Second run of XPCREATE.CMD results in the following error. "Cannot clear NEWSOURCE directory." Actual screen message: J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\tpc_oobe.dl_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\tpc_oobe.xm_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\tpgwlnot.dl_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\trkbc.dl_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\tutaicod.gi_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\tutaicol.gi_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\viewer.ht_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\viewer.xm_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\webpad.in_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\wisptis.ex_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\zh-chskb.dl_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386\zh-chtkb.dl_ - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC\i386 - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\TABLETPC - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\netfx\i386\netfx.cab - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\netfx\i386 - Access is denied. J:cmpnents\netfx - Access is denied. J:cmpnents - Access is denied. J:setupxp.htm - Access is denied. J:spnotes.htm - Access is denied. J:win51ip.SP1 - Access is denied. J:win51ip.SP2 - Access is denied. J:xpboot.bin - Access is denied. Error: "Cannot clear NEWSOURCE directory." Press Enter to Exit. Solution : CDSOURCE directory must have the contents of the WinXP CD. P.S. : Maybe the errors is just because there aren't any slashes "\" right after the "J:". II.Test2 Pre-test : No modifications done to any of the files. Objective : To see if XPCREATE.CMD works when the contents of the CD-ROM is copied to the CDSROUCE directory. Also, the BOOT\XPCTBOOT.BIN is copied over from the prior one since it just cannot copy it from the WinXP cd(the CD is bootable). Result : 1. First XPCREATE.CMD run creates the initial directory structure. 2. Second run of XPCREATE.CMD results by automatically closing the XPCREATE.CMD cmd box. From the "XPCREATE.LOG", the last log event written was the copy of the "PRODSPEC.INI" file. 3. This same error has been seen in the prior XPCREATE.CMD (11 JUN 2004) edition. Also, adding DOS command of "CHCP 437" at the top of the XPCREATE.CMD file, which makes the DOS screen in English did not work either. (Just thought that the error was caused by the localized version of WindowsXP, in this case the Japanese WinXP. "CHCP 932" is the code page for Japanese, and "CHCP 437" is the code page for English. ) Solution : Problem is solved by placing the following line after the GERMAN one. IF /I "%TESTLANG%"=="Japanese" SET CDWINLANG=JAP& GOTO GOTLANG and never after the IF /I "%TESTLANG%"=="„¢¢ž¤ ¡?E SET CDWINLANG=ELL& GOTO GOTLANG ELL language one. I'm not sure but the place where "%TESTLANG%"=="something" is like looking inside a binary file or something similar for the ELL language one. But might just be because of the Japanese WindowsXP environment. III.Test3 Pre-test : Modification to the XPCREATE.CMD, look at the above solution for the modification done to XPCREATE.CMD to work. Objective : To see if XPCREATE.CMD can download the XPCLIST from the URL specified in the XPCREATE.INI. Result : Error: "Download Error on Service Pack." Solution : Put the XPCTHLST.TXT where it belongs, http://xpcreate.wiretapped.us/XPCLISTS/XPP/JAP/XPCTHLST.TXT. Well, anyway, an easy testing is going on right now and stumbling at the start for the moment. Will have more things later on.
  3. Go to themexp.org and get your desired OSX theme. Isn't that what you're asking for?
  4. I wonder why but when I installed a clean WinXP SP2, I get many errors, i.e. iexplore.exe, setiathome.exe, windows stuffs e.t.c.. I just get many errors for just turning on my computer and doing nothing. I've never had any major problems w/ service packs until WinXP SP2 but this SP2 gives me a head ache.
  5. Truly agree about the iTunes. Text replacement program -> Speeeeed (Japanese); This is very useful when yuo gotta have to change a lot of texts at once. i.e. for html tag replacement. Resouce Editing -> Resource Editor; Resouce editing program that I guess all msfn users know about.
  6. Maybe so, if you alter some DLLs or EXEs that have the bubbles information in it.
  7. I don't know what your neighbors do on their weekends but if they only use it for web surfin', why not use the free linuxes out their? And if they also want office, use the openoffice.org's office. That way, it won't let them cost the money for another Winxp machine. It's definitly not the solution for the MSFN forum but you gotta let your neighbor know that not having a anti-virus or even with an anti-virus installed, they gotta have it updated. The cost of not having an anti-virus or a firewall may cost them a lot more than buying a new Windows. And also, time is money.
  8. I don't know about ISOBuster and not much about CDIMAGE.exe. I only know about CDIMAGE as it says that its from MS as it says it at the start of the CDIMAGE process.I guess the MS's CDs are optimized so that it will fit on the 650MB, 700MB cds. You might be able to find something inside the MSFN's office 2003 threads about CDIMAGE, as I don't remember that much about office 2003 but it fits on 1CD, not a DVD and when extracted to the Hard Drive, it was about 1GB or something like that. As for the XP CD before the optimization of another one, it was 693MB on the HD before before making the ISO, and 669MB after making the ISO w/ CDIMAGE. The size will be different from yours as my XPCD is WinXP Pro SP2 (Japanese). Maybe you can find more stuffs related to it on the web. I hope this helps a little.
  9. XPCREATE + WinXP Pro SP2 works great! For the XPC list refer to the attached file. XPP_SP2_XPC.zip

  11. Did you use CDIMAGE.EXE to make an ISO of your slipstreamed XPSP2? If so, then the program(CDIMAGE.EXE) optimized the ISO and made it smaller in size. You shouldn't be worried about it but be happy!
  12. XPCREATE list for the WindowsXP SP2 Japanese Edition is on the way for the few Japanese WinXP users at this forum! Now, executing the first test of the newly updated XPC list! Damm, just a big file (273MB).
  13. Japanese WindowsXP SP2 http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/c...935-SP2-JPN.exe File size: 273 MB (286,396,136 bytes) File version : 5.5.1005.0 (SRV03_QFE.031113-0918) English WindowsXP SP2 http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/6...935-SP2-ENU.exe File size: 266 MB (278,927,592 bytes) File version : 5.5.1005.0 (SRV03_QFE.031113-0918) I guess the Japanese WindowsXP SP2 is out. Checking the file version from the properties, it looks like it's the same one as the English one that is linked officially from the MS website. -> meaning, the Japanese WinXP SP2 is not linked from the MS site but is from the MS site. The Japanese version was unofficially linked earlier from the MS site but later the link was deleted for some reason. If you can read Japanese, you can look here. Yahoo Japan Not just the right place to add the topic but for those Japanese WinXP users can get their official(?) SP2 of WinXP. B)
  14. Why don't you use the bootvis or Tunexp? Or maybe by installing the SP2, your HD may have fragmented a lot if you haven't clean installed it.
  15. Hi adeu! Despite of how the others who are working as coorporate warriors in the Japanese society, many of my friends only get a day off during the summer time excluding Saturdays and Sundays, you get a whole 2 weeks+ vacation time! I guess where you work is a good place that can give you a time to relax and forget about work! We all need our healing time! Hope you had a great vacation! Anyway, I haven't updated the XPC list since the SP2 is soon to be released as I hope so people who are using the JP editions of WindowsXP should wait a little more for the XPC list to be updated. Appreaciation to GM as always! (Right now, I just can't finish the branding of WinXP, it really is time consuming!!)
  16. Thankx for your reply SiMoNsAyS! I see, never have though about the sp1 or the sp2 problem. But I'm using the sp1 since my WinXP lang. is in Japanese, however, the logonui was downloaded from www.themexp.org which I don't know which version it is anyway. Its just that the error occurs only when the Bitmap #119 is replaced and nothing else. I guess i gotta wait for the SP2 to come out and try it again.
  17. ..... Does any body have any clue? I would really, really appreaciate it if someone can help me with this topic 'cause I'm kind'a stuck here.
  18. wan't the line limit like 4096? Why don't you attach the file so that we can take a look.
  19. Hi all! I couldn't find the related thing by searching so I would like to ask you people for the expertise. I get this message Dialog Title : "Parser Message" and Dialog Message : "Value creation failed " at line 219" when I put the new bitmap by cut and paste or by replacing it in "Restorator 2004" and in "Resource Tuner" when I replace the Bitmap #119 of the logonui.exe and then after try to use it as as the logon screen. The logon screen doesn't come out, instead, the above dialog appears, and after a few clicks of the same msg, the old 2k style logon screen appears. Anyone else who got this error message and have found the work around to this problem? It would really help me if this os solved. The now-in-edit file is attached. It's from the "Ghost in the shell" tv version season 1. Download from here.
  20. Easy kick a** solution argon007. You have your language as U.S.A. but if your using some other languages that the SP2 isn't out for, maybe why don't you install another firewall software, i.e. outpost firewall, norton personal firewall,e.t.c. and make a silent install into your perfecting WinXP SP1. If not slipstream SP2 into your Windows XP that you got as argon007 says if the SP2 is out for your language.
  21. I guess every single tutorials out there on the net or printed on paper should have the first thing needed as to include your brain. -> Some manuals out there says it on the first line.
  22. Well, never have tried it but in the XPCREATE forum inside MSFN, the XPCREATE program uses the "PRODSPEC.INI" located inside the i386 folder of the source disk(XP CD) to ensure which language the XP is. Look inside and change it to "English" w/o the quotes. I've never tried it but this maybe one way that the SP's check your XP lnguage. Tell us if it works elysium20BB! Good Luck
  23. You should write more in-depth about what you problem is, but look at UNATTENDED.MSFN.ORG. If you READ right, you should be able to UNATTEND correctly. The problem most users can't unattendently install is because they miss out stuffs and don't read carefully about the manual suppose. I had the same experience back then. Relax and start over the sequence.
  24. Couldn't Windows PE or BartsPE be installed to a HD? If one can do that, it certainly can boot Windows XP faster than normal. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  25. Well, didn't find the one that I needed in there but thanx. The one that I need is the background image that appears when the logoff button is selected from Start -> Log off and a dialog appears. <- This dialogs background is the one that I want to edit, but had no luck on finding it. Does anyone know where it is located?
