Well, I don't know what I am doing wrong but I have no CTRL-ALT-DEL anymore. Also I can't go standby or logoff. The computer just shutdown. Here's some regtweak for you guys: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoLogOff"=dword:1 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ACPI\Parameters] "Attributes"=dword:70 Removes standby and logoff from your system. BTW, compared with new nLite 0.99.5 alpha 2 you don't have faster boottime anymore. EDIT: PowerButton function keys do also not work. This tweak is only useful for embedded systems or for use with internet shops

minigun, you can talk about your workaround, as long as you don't post links to 'illegal' files or so.

So no more patching days? Than I can release my 1.0.5 Dutch RyanVM package to the public -
I get the same error. I replaced all registry settings in hivesft.inf and I get also the stop error at windows logon (after second reboot)

By using XP embedded components on an Windows XP installation you need to have an XP embedded license. This tweak isn't necessary for nLite, but meaby someone knows how to manually adjust the unattended cd to have minlogon used also during installation, so all software is installed on the SYSTEM account B) Please let me know
-
Well, just removing the files will disallow you to login again You need some XP Embedded components to do the trick EDIT Just tested it: + Startup time improved No more user profiles get rid of the oembios files - No hibernation No standby

Why do you guys use start /wait in batch files? At least during Windows XP Setup all my batches run fine without adding start /wait. Also with this one on T13. I'm using Windows XP Professional SP2: cmdow @ /HID @echo off %systemdrive%\install\DaemonTools\daemon.msi /quiet /passive /qn /norestart REBOOT=ReallySuppress EXIT

Slipstream SP1 into Office 2003 Proofing Tools?
Acheron replied to fubarkid's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I gave some examples how you can install unattended from one big 7-zip file. The TS just needs to compress all those files from the Administrative Install Point of the Office Proofing Tools into a RAR or 7zip file. -
Slipstream SP1 into Office 2003 Proofing Tools?
Acheron replied to fubarkid's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I don't know it either. I'm just adding all those files (except installer) into one big 7-zip package which I extract during unattended installation into temporal folder from where I launch the installer . It works perfect with Office 2003 ( Word, Excel and PowerPoint in 55 MB using Office Shrinker and 7-zip) and Autocad 2005 Here's my Office2003 code snippet: cmdow @ /HID 7za x -y -o%temp% %cdrom%install\office2003\office2003.7z %temp%\setup.exe /qb TRANSFORMS=%temp%\unattended.mst RD /S /Q %temp% exit and my Autocad 2005 code: cmdow @ /HID 7za x -y -o%temp% %cdrom%install\autocad\ArchitecturalDesktop2005.7z %temp%\deploy.exe "Architectural Desktop 2005" xcopy /s /y %cdrom%install\autocad\b2427000.dat "%allusersprofile%\Application Data\Autodesk\Software Licenses\" RD /S /Q %temp% del /f /q "%allusersprofile%\Menu Start\Programma's\Opstarten\AutoCAD Startup Accelerator.lnk" exit -

You don't have to thank minalgar for this but blame Microsoft for not being consequent when it comes to registry tweaks -
Java 1.4.2_06 or Java 5.0

Do note that programs which are java-based like Azureus load faster and are more responsive with new Java 5.0 -

Acheron replied to haysdad's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
When you get the answer please let me know, so far this is the only tweak I still can't get applied during setup. I would like small icons with text under it. So far I can adjust the quick launchbar, change the toolbar button order, change locations of any Windows system folder, etc, etc, but this is the stuffest one I have ever seen. -
RyanVM Windows XP SP2 Update Pack
Acheron replied to RyanVM's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Ryan, there seems to be some problem with new KB887742 update; http.sys is replaced by new version, but http.sys does also exist in Driver.cab. How are you gonna replace that file insite Driver.cab? -

RyanVM Windows XP SP2 Update Pack
Acheron replied to RyanVM's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Well Ryan, you can call it the Post-SP2 update pack or similar, but when you name the update pack "Service Pack 2.1" people will think the pack can also be slipstreamed into original Windows XP CD or SP1. About Shockwave, so far as I see there is not yet a translated version of the Shockwave plug-in. Thnx, I'll PM later -
RyanVM Windows XP SP2 Update Pack
Acheron replied to RyanVM's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Ryan, I notice you didn't include updated mstsc.chm helpfile with Microsoft Remote Desktop Client 5.2.3790.0. Please add the new file to your distribution so users who don't remove Windows Help with nLite can read it. -
RyanVM Windows XP SP2 Update Pack
Acheron replied to RyanVM's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Ryan, I made a complete list of which updates of your pack are language dependant: KB831240 - HighMAT CD Writing Wizard KB834707 - Cumulative Security Update For Internet Explorer, October 2004 Microsoft Windows Script 5.6.8825 - Only wscript.hlp is language dependant. Windows Update 5.5.3790.2182 Microsoft Remote Desktop Client 5.2.3790.0 New updates KB888240 and KB886670 are language independant B) The Shockwave plug-in is currently English-only so could be implemented into lite pack. I have managed now to add also Remote Desktop Client and HighMat CD Writing Wizard to the Dutch update package, so I will call the new release not lite anymore -

The downloadlink for KB886677 -› "Double-byte character set (DBCS) characters may appear corrupted in Internet Explorer on Windows XP when you browse a Web site that uses Shift-JIS character encoding" is not right. Please change it to: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en -

RyanVM Windows XP SP2 Update Pack
Acheron replied to RyanVM's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
you can slipstream updates for Office 2003 using the following tutorial: http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/office2003_slipstreaming.htm Please note Microsoft Office is not a program installed standard with Windows XP, so updates to Microsoft Office will not get included in the update pack ever -
http://www.paragon-gmbh.com/f_ntfs.htm THe demo version mounts NTFS under Windows 9x, in stead of wininternals NTFS for Win98 you don't need the Windows 2000 / XP sytemfiles in order for the program to work. I found out that the only file you need is pntfs.vxd which is located in WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS I prefer this one above the DiskInternals NTFS Reader cause that is a stand alone version. Meaby you should contact Paragon if you can include this file into the distribution
