  1. i know that ! but its not there edit got it, its the PDC20276 controller. i need some sleep !! to avoid asking such dumb questions
  2. anybody saw a website offering the latest drivers for the Promise MB FastTrak 133 Lite Controller? I looked like everywhere around, but didnt find anything. Browsed through www.promise.com but where to select the driver you cant choose a FastTrak 133 Lite Controller. And maybe anybody got the newest bios update? i know its an integrated driver (because of onboard). so i should get the latest bios from motherboard manufactor, but you know its possible to integrate raid conroller driver into motherboard bios file Thank You! Tribble Problem solved
  3. never mind lets hope kasandoro found his solution for his problem here.
  4. are you using cdshell for the boot menu? does it start and do you see the boot menu? with PM8.IMA i think you should remake the 2 discs and make a clean .IMA image of them. And use memdisk to load PM8.IMA if you are using cdshell! Read (again?!) through this to make the dvd bootable and to show up with the menu. Just follow exactly the guide for making the AIODVD :/
  5. thats why i said u need the right ISO Image Editor, so you are repeating me! But thats a different story. Using UltraISO to add/remove files in an iso image will not make the file corrupt. MagicISO will, for WinISO i dunno. I dont use it. And surely you can optimize your ISO File with UltraISO Just read the Whats New.txt from WinISO, it really needs an Update. If you take a look at UltraISO's What New.txt you will see they are doing nice job on making it a good iso image editor. Anyway, problems seems solved now, not? kasandoro?
  6. yeah GreenMachine, but why remake a whole iso when you just need to edit the existing image (faster and resting hdd ). the problem only is, that there are programs which damage the file after editing :/ but you are right that it could be/is annoying when pplz come and say their iso file is f***ed and think its prob of xpcreate for example, when it was their iso image editor for example :/
  7. where is the problem to edit (replace files) in a bootable image? Dont think this is the problem.
  8. i think thats not the point of his question. the point is, he just want to back up his user profile, favorites etc. automatically just before he is fresh installing winxp, 1. b/c he could forget to do it manually and 2. so its latest updated
  9. i think this is impossible. you have to backup ur stuff manually.
  10. maybe ur iso file is write protected? cant imagine something else. If you dont get it working, try using UltraISO. This should work 100%, but i think its not needed to switch to another app, but who knows
  11. whats the point of your post? is it to mention out, that you can use MagicISO to edit an iso image? Btw i recommend to use UltraISO, b/c MagicISO sometimes destroys ISO Files. And dont use the build-in-multi-boot-editor from MagicISO. You will get into problems!
  12. u tried this? b/c u said the cdrom was set to d:\ again and when u connected ur fat32 hdd it was set to e:\ .. this should work.
  13. yes MAVERICKS CHOICE. And 95% of that code is not needed :/ And You dont need 2 autoexec.bat. You can merge them.
  14. be sure, the CD-ROM Identifier Files WIN51, WIN51IP and WIN51IP.SP1 are in the root of your xp-cd !
  15. i think the PID should be between 640-300 and 640-599, i know/have some original vlks and all are between this range. Or can anybody confirm a working key with pid in another 640 range?
  16. im not sure if we talking about the same, but to extract boot sectors you can use Barts BBIE for example. Other programs you can use are ISOBuster, UltraISO, MagicISO or WinImage edit: according to Goshs Page we talk about the same So the programs stated above should do this job for you.
  17. delete the lines in txtsetup.sif. its old codecs from MS you dont need it, dont worry. if you dont know how/where delete exactly search around the forum, im sure u will find the answer
  18. do you think that method works also for installing sata/raid drivers and bypass the f6 pressing + the disk you need for the driver to install? i could imagine it would work when you add the hardware ids to txtsetup.sif ([HardwareIdsDatabase]), but im not sure.
  19. no, you dont understand. i want it to do during install, not when windows is already installed. that aint that prob but in general, windows creates an "Administrator" Account and when its done with install you have to make your own Account (which got admin privileges). What i want is to use the Administrator account and not to create a new one. But not when XP is already installed! It should be from the first logon. It should use the Administrator Account in general with a password of my choice.
  20. yes, thats impossible that the wi-crash affect ur new installation from cd. u tried bios defauls? not just modify some settings here and there? maybe you updated ur bios?
  21. yeah sure it cant create any files or acces ur profile dir, b/c u said and what a wonder, windows has no write access on your cdrom im not sure what you wanna do, do you just want to use the ntfs partition as data hdd or do you want to install winxp on it? u could set ur profiles dir to C:\docu.. b/c as u said when you login as administrator ur fat32 part. with ur profiles dir is drive lettered to C:\ if you want to clean install winxp on ur ntfs partition i recommend to disconnect ur fat32 for the setup of winxp and reconnect it when xp is installed. the ntfs partition should/must be C:\ now, b/c it was the only drive connected during install. if you connect hdds later they would never replace the C:\ letter, its 'reserved' by Windows. It would automatically get D:\ or something higher depends on what other drives are connected to ur pc. in your case it should get E:\ because ur cdrom drive was already connected, so it has drive letter d:\ (remember the ntfs partition has drive letter c:\ so u have 2 choices: change ProfilesDir ="D:\Documents and Settings\" to ProfilesDir ="E:\Documents and Settings\" in your winnt.sif and install xp or keep it in D:\, install Windows, boot up, change drive letter from cdrom to e:\ or something higher. connect ur fat32 partition and it should automatically get drive letter D:\ which fits to your configuration. btw, go sure to set the bios to boot from your new ntfs partition c: fat32 d: cdrom e: ntfs looks like you booted from ur fat32 partition !
  22. looks like a keyboard problem. since when do u have these problems? did you buy a new keyboard? where is ur keyboard connected? did you try installing winxp from an original winxp-cd, i mean a not modified (reduced, hacked files etc.) one ? i recommend installing winxp from a winxp cd with sp1 slipstreamed. same questions for ur win2k cd try slipstreaming the latest win2k sp and install win2k again.
  23. that depends on which OS you create the boot discs. on win9x (me?) it will not use ibm dos, on all winnt platforms (nt, 2k, xp..) it makes the disks with these files ( ibmbio.com and ibmdos.com) btw loading the partition magic 8 image works fine here. its not a special image at all, all u have to do is making those 2 pm8 discs, copy the content to a dir in the root of ur boot cd on ur hdd. make ur own autoexec.bat/config.sys or use/modify those ones from win9x bootdisk and add a line like x:\pm8\pqmagic.exe to ur autoexec.bat. there are tons of guides in the inet for all your questions. and ur problems is no problem with pqmagic8 its more that you dont get ur bootcd working in the correct way :/
  24. haha ! well, surely it depends on how much stuff u pre-remove from ur xpcd
  25. if you want to safe some space on ur xpcd and pre-remove some unwanted stuff, then yes. it works very well here (reduced from 500 to 180mb)
