if you have 2 HD or 2 partitions you can install xp on C: and D: for example and dual boot from both, then you would have to run setup from both OS for some programs to work.

7mb of folder means that only the installation .msi it's copied. it's probably that u have problems because of a wrong version of the shrink utility, try the attached file. 1 more thing, if you have slipstreamed sp1 on your office version you're going to have problems. can be solved manually copying the files that the shrink tool can't find. good luck! shrink_span.zip

Today I was talking with my friend XPero about pros and cons of overclocking. We agreed, why not overclock it? Maybe the life of your components would be shorter but... is this so important? How many time can pass until you change your PC to a newer one? I personally think that a safe overclock can speed up your system and if your components aren't having a serious damage it's ok. Final question: +5fps on D3 / -15min coding divx or CPU 10º cooler?

try pointing directly to shutdown.exe like edit: wait 1 moment are u trying to reboot during cmdlines.txt!! that's T-13 and windows has not finished install!!

wrong, number of files copied: 0 the 7mb folder only holds the main .msi installation file. maybe a problem with an administrative sp1 installation of office or wrong shrink version.

@a06lp, rightclick>save as... posting user accounts pictures... the theme it's loaded after runonce and some people don't do it but i have added an entry at the end of runonceex.cmd to reboot. after that desktop it's fully loaded.

mmm little correction, Messenger it's locked to 4.7 version so that's the latest. MSN Messenger latest version it's 6.2 that it's different from the first one slipstreamed in XP SP2

@Rohaq of course it works perfectly but only if your profile it's in C:\ and if you are using the english version of XP so your %APPDATA% looks like \Application Data\ and not like mine \Datos de programa\ the guide i tried to do it's language and drive independant

...so here i go... if we want to start the installation from the HD, our controller sys files aren't loaded if we only include the entries in txtsetup.sif. the solution it's to play a little with a new file: dosnet.inf simply download latest driverpack massStorage. you will find a file called Add_to_txtsetupsif.txt, open it with notepad. you'll find a section like: copy that section to a new .txt file (the latest entry must be the latest " = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4") now in the new text file we need to transform those strings to: let me explain, entries have to be named like "d1,sysfile.sys". and need to be under [FloppyFiles.2] and [Files]. also note that ultra.sys it's already included together with windows so it's not necessary that entry, you can safely delete it. that's all, if you don't want to do all of this work i have created a file for the current driver pack, simply copy what it's in it to dosnet.inf. hope Bâshrat can add it to the new revision of his driverpack

at cmdlines.txt the registry hasn't got an advanced structure. use RunOnceEx instead

i will highly recommend my method (it's not trully my method it's just a resume of tips and tricks). try using mozilla installer together with jdoe's vbs scripts... but i won't recommend firefox PreRelease, it has a lot, and i mean a LOT of bugs. wait for final version (10/11/04) ps: the link it's at my signature
