  2. thats a very good question, sorry i cannot answer you, because i install it silently and tested it imediatly. Maybe it was after run it for the first time, but it was there
  3. So using WMPOCM=off in my winnt.sif file is useless. I can just sliently install wmp10 and it will supress wmp9 right? Or you recommend anything else?
  4. dcromwell, dude i installed with this command line: start /wait MP10Setup.exe /q:A /c:"setup_wm.exe /Q /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore" and it placed a quick lunch icon. prathapml, in dummy language that means that wmp9 will be there... just no links and stuff for acessing it?
  5. I have Win XP SP2 and it installs WMP9. Is there a way to prevent it from installing? I just wanna add the command line provided by hiphopconnect to my batch file for intalling WMP10 without WMP9 being there. is there some string to add to winnt.sif for WMP10 like the windows messenger one msmsgs=off??? Tks
  6. **** i hate it, all apps works fine but i have a lot of network issues. first the home network configuration wizard configures host and client but ICS does not work, before sp2 it worked, now i have to had manually dns of internet connection to the client computer. i am also having issues with p2p software on the client computer, haven't figured out how to fix them yet. i am thinking on going back to sp1a now EDIT: please let me vote 1000 times on the IT'S MY WORST NIGHTMARE!!!!!
  7. lol, that's not it dude. that's for IE, not for XP TCP connections:p i've found a fix for tcp limit of 10 connections and i unlocked it completly to 16777214 simultaneous connections. but port 4662 is still unreachable. but only to the client computer, on this one it works great. HELP
  8. no way dude, the ics is properly configured and fully working. the problem is low id issue. prior to SP2 i would add 2 ports, 1 UDP and another TCP to windows firewall and problem solved, now with SP2 this is not working, not even with firewall off. i've read somewhere that this is a SP2 "problem" because MS want it to be so safe that it's only possible to have 10 max tcp connectuions, to avoid worm spread. can anyone help me with this?
  9. please ask me if other details are necessary
  10. i had the same problem, just set on the client computer the dns servers of your internet connection and you're done. reply if it works. edit: and if it doens't
  11. hi, I use WinXP SP2 and i have 2 computers, one has the modem and connects to the internet and the other one connects to the internet via Internet Connection Sharing. I am trying to open to ports TCP 4662 and UDP 4672 on the first computer, to use Emule on the second computer. To do that i go to firewall configuration on the control panel then i click advanced tab then defenitions button and finally the add button. (please see the attachment) before sp2 this was working. now even if i turn off firewall i still get low ID. And i mean turning both computers windows sp2 firewall to off. BTW, computer with the modem is pcruben, computer using ICS pccatia. tks for help
  12. Glent, that was already mentioned in this thread, here it goes again. ;----- ;----- Adds Registry Editor right click of MY Computer ;----- [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\regedit] @=hex(2):52,00,65,00,67,00,69,00,73,00,74,00,72,00,79,00,20,00,45,00,64,00,\ 69,00,74,00,6f,00,72,00,00,00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\regedit\command] @=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,72,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\ 00,5c,00,72,00,65,00,67,00,65,00,64,00,69,00,74,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,\ 00,00 This uses for command %Systemroot%\regedit.exe, meaning you can install your windows on any folder you like. BTW, any portuguese fellow change the first string to this: (it will show in right click EDITOR DE REGISTO insted of REGISTRY EDITOR) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\regedit] @=hex(2):45,00,64,00,69,00,74,00,6f,00,72,00,20,00,64,00,65,00,20,00,52,00,65,\ 00,67,00,69,00,73,00,74,00,6f,00,00,00
