  1. I fixed this problem. incase anyone is interested, I inserted my quick restore cd, and there was a folder that said HIBERNATION in caps or some such thing, and inside there were three files "Phdisk.exe," "autoexec.bat," and a readme. the readme told how to make a bootable disk that allowed me to change the size of the hibernation file. it gave the necessary size based on my RAM, as well. so yeah. Hibernation has been fixed!
  2. Also, It is Hibernation, but from what I've heard, Hibernation and suspend are rather similar.
  3. thanks alot for your help. I will try a few of these.
  4. is there any way to fix this? My computer can no longer hibernate, now that I added 256mb of RAM. my power properties lost the "Hibernation" tab, as well.
  5. I look forward to this. I think it's possible, if we just work on structuring it and whatnot.
  6. This sounds promising, so far. I think that, whatever the form, the full updates install package that we make should include the option of skipping any updates we don't want (similar to, but possibly more detailed than, autopatcher) and the option of going back and adding updates that we hadn't previously. also an uninstaller would be nice, incase there are glitches that we want to get rid of.
  7. I totally agree with this, as I'm worried about if I get some hard drive larger than 10gb, and want to install 98SE on it, but I don't have an install cd, just a system restore, and I do have a perfectly legal key and whatnot.I hope that we can get a webserver, and succeed at upgrading components. I really appreciate you all's work. I'll try to contribute all I can, though I don't have a whole lot of knowledge. also, what's this about censorship, I'm presently in the dark?
  8. I knew about the right clicking trick in order to get the open with, but I never before noticed the "change to default" option. lol. unobservant, I guess. I learned the shift trick from windows 95, cause I had a 95 laptop for a bit. I also knew that clicking it first, then holding shift and right clicking was a better idea. thanks for the help. I'm sure many people have learned something useful from this thread.
  9. Good work so far! i feel like a broken record, but I look forward to future releases. I like some of the ideas other people suggested
  10. thanks for your help. Total commander looks interesting, but idk if i want to make that drastic a change. as far as the file types go, I can find the menu and it tells which extension opens with which program, but i can't figure out how to change that. any helP?
  11. There's probably already a topic like this, but i searched and didn't find it. So, does anyone happen to know how to change the default program for files of a specific extension to be opened to? In Windows XP, all I have to do is go into properties, but i can't seem to find any similar properties entry in my Windows 98SE. I hope that you can help me. Thank you.
  12. nice job. i like the simple appeal of 98, so i won't be using it much, but i also like to change up my look frequently. my suggestion, would be to add color options for changing the background of the thing so that it can best integrate into your desktop theme. Here's how mine looks now. i greatly look forward to any updates you might add. Good work!
  13. as it turns out, i misunderstood your instructions. i needed to copy the internal directly called sky98, rather than the whole theme. i'm not always the brightest, lol. this theme is cool, i look forward to updates
  14. Roemer Easy Hi-Q Recorder / Free Hi-Q recorder SHAR/FREE as far as I can tell, it's On-Going. doesn't look like they're discontinuing Support for Win98SE it's a sound recorder and universal sound file converter details here: http://www.roemersoftware.com/
  15. yeah, I copied the entire folder, rather than just the theme. and other themes are working just fine. maybe i'll try again. it might have required a reboot, and I have shut down and started back up a few times since i first tried thanks for trying to help
  16. that didn't seem to work. i moved the directory to the folder you specified, and opened the reg file again, then tried changing themes, and it didn't seem to get any of the graphics stuff
  17. i'm kinda new here so i'm probably just missing something small, but, I really like this theme, and I want it, but it won't work. i opened the registry file, it applied changes without error, but this theme didn't work. i have uberskin, and it works with the vista and xp ones, but not this sky98 one. help, anyone?
