  1. What you need is CDShell. If you use it with Reanimalogs BCDW you can fake the Windows look (See pic). But it isn't a true GUI. I don't think there is one that will work at boot.
  2. Thanx for the Tutorial. I followed it (and subsequent posts) to get a setup screen matching the default theme following installation (see Shot) But I cannot get the changing text paragraphs to show my text. I have edited the text strings in both winntbbu.dll and winntbba.dll, I have tried all combinations of compressed and not. But still I get the original Microsoft blurb. Is this text hidden somewhere else as well? info; Booting into Virtual PC from ISO image Further Info; on testing, the edited text works fine in a setup from inside windows but not when booting from CD 5 Rebuilds later - It's working. However, I havn't changed the file just rebuilt the ISO. LOL
  3. Hi Gosh Like many folks I have a wide variety of machines to maintain and I just like to keep stuff where I can get at it easily. It seemed to complete the set for XP. (Besides, my wife says that I am a compulsive - she didn't say a compulsive what?)
  4. Resurr re DOS 7 Check out here **http://newdos.yginfo.net/msdos71/** I hope I don't get flamed for this - I'm not sure about the legalities so I'll kill the link. It works when you paste it into a new browser window.
  5. Yea, guess you missunderstood, The files are already extracted from the ISO so that they can be updated, prepared for unattended etc but most importantly ADDED to my multi-boot CD. My CDs use CDShell and BCDW to boot to a screen such as the one attached. I have a whole series of these on CDR one for DOS upto 95, 98 through to ME, 2000 series, XP series, 2003 series, and one for the Longhorn Betas. If you want to see how to do it yourself see the guide here Flyakite's Guide My problem is that I require setup files to initiate the boot process from the menu and I have usually used the setup floppies to do this. Thanx anyway for trying
  6. Be careful. You MUST include all the disk ident files or it will not work. They are called DISK1, DISK2 etc up to (I think) DISK8 for WFW. It works very sweet - windows installs in around 15 secs! If you want a more up to date environment you could try installing WFW over DOS 7 instead of 6.22
  7. I am (re)building my multi-boot XP CD to incorporate versions with the latest hotfixes etc and would like to include the trial 64 bit version of XP that Micro$oft kindly gave away. However, I am unable to find any boot floppies (I doubt if the exist for a 64 bit system) and I couldn't gets Gosh's W2003 version to work According to this method i386\winnt32.exe /noreboot should allow me to extract the files, but my ISO (DL from MS) doesn't contain this file. Any use trying the W2003 files? Any advice greatfully recieved.
