  1. Yeah sorry should have mentioned that. You need to immediately assign the .ZIP extention to 7ZIP (or alternate) to stop it re-registering that DLL.
  2. Yup, the reg entries and the right click item will be gone.
  3. You have to un-register the ZIPFLDR dll like this: regsvr32 /u %windir%\system32\zipfldr.dll
  4. Hey, if I buy a retail copy of Vista the license for use belongs to me, not the hardware. Moving and upgrading should be allowed as long as only 1 working copy of the OS exists. I'm sure under UK consumer law these restrictions will not be legally enforcable.
  5. Oh dear that's not a good idea. The "System Volume Information" folder also holds the hidden NTFS journal file. You seriously don't want to mess with that!
  6. I got big problems after this patch. Explorer hangs using 99% of CPU whenever I try to use it, especially when expanding folders. I can't un-install 'cos I did a stupid thing. I cleared out all backups made by the patches. Yes I know, very silly. The work around did not help. So i'm stuffed until the MS patch-to-fix-a-patch arrives.
  7. This may be what you are looking for: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=68444
  8. I have used the updated .CMD file for many builds without any problems. Perhaps somebody could ask the author to update the 'BTS Driver Pack v1.0.1' (at www.ubcd4win.com ) with this amended .CMD file?
  9. It allows Hard Drives and CD/DVD drives to be used remotely. The big difference is that the remote machine can WRITE to a CD/DVD-RW drive in another machine. Normal windows sharing only allows reading from CD/DVD drives. These are the guys that make the software : http://www.rocketdivision.com/
  10. Sorry for the delay, I am not getting notify emails for some reason. I have downloaded the CMD file, I will test as soon as I can. Thanks. ...edit... Yup seems to work OK. What did you do? Does the changes lose any drivers?
  11. Ok, thanks I don't seem to be getting any notify emails for some reason
  12. I use the driverpacks to build a BartPE CD. To do this, I use the BTS Driver plugin from here http://www.ubcd4win.com/downloads.htm This has always worked fine until the lastest v6.02 (19/02/06). Now i'm getting missing SYS file errors when booting my BartPE. I had to edit the TXTSETUP.SIF file to get it working again. All references to the missing files were removed. These are: rr404.sys ati3112r.sys 3ware78k 3ware9k (and as a precaution I removed to other 3ware???.sys driver). It all works fine with those entries removed. Anyone seen this? Any ideas what's giong on? Thanks
  13. After re-built my BartPE CD i'm getting this problem: rr404.sys is missing The boot-up cannot continue at this point. I have successfully built many BartPE with drivers packs before. This is the first time I have had this type of error.
  14. Ok found a good site with loadsa proxy servers to try : http://www.publicproxyservers.com/ I'm using 69.182.171.102:80 and I can get in now.
  15. I use an NTL cable modem in the UK. They use a transparent(!) proxy so this could be screwing things up. I'll try re-directing my browser to use a different proxy server.
  16. Not solved for me. In Firefox 15.0.1 it just returns a blank screen after a few minutes wait. I have never been to this site before so I should not be blocked (hopefully)! P.S I am not infected with any kind of zombie/trojan.
  17. Hey that's well cool, I like it. Think i'm gonna buy it Thanks for the info.
  18. Nero has an option to burn to an 'Image Recorder' instead of a physical CD/DVD writer. It can create an .ISO or .NRG image file. Perhaps that will do the trick?
  19. Have a look here: http://www.sysinternals.com/FileAndDiskUtilities.html
  20. You can't get those in date order because you have DDMMYYYY format. You need to have YYYYMMDD format to get them sorted in date order. Try something like this to do the renames: http://www.mediachance.com/free/renamer.htm
  21. No disrespect to markavonsoftware but you guys be carefull with your email addresses. Geocities is currently turning into a spammer haven. LOTS of spamvertised sites hosted there. Know live email addresses are worth extra when being sold on......
  22. In the olden days when floppies were the main storage media they got used a lot. To increase storage and enable disk-2-disk copies there were normally 2 floppy drives installed. These were always A: and B:. It's a hang over from those days that these 2 drive letters are always reserved for floppy drives.
