OK..that partially fixed things. Maybe it was late last night, but I totally recall trying that. I still have the problem of everything being grayed out. I miss old file sharing..much easier.

I went to add/remove windows components and added Other Network File and Print Services Is that what you mean? There still is no Sharing and Security tab, or a Sharing... on the right click menu. Are there services or anything I may be missing?

This is a n00b question..but I just am stumped. i have 2 computers in the same workgroup. I want create the a shared folder so I can swap files between the laptop and desktop. On my desktop, the sharing function isn't listed in the right click menu. On the laptop, it is the sharing tab is greyed out. (all the options in it ) Neither are visible on in the workgroup on the home network. It's 12:07 am, and im stumped. help! btw..i just reimaged the laptop with a unattended install. could it be one of the settings i did in there? regTweaks.reg

is msiexec.exe a standard executable, or do I have to download it? Also, do I have to run and kill AIM?

I have recently purchased a laptop. When it arrives, I want to be able to keep it synched with my PC. Things like movies, music, websites im working on, pictures, documents...etc.. I want to be able to push a button or something, and have it automatically add/delete any needed files. Any suggestions?

I'd like to volunteer to lead a fix. I dont think we can take the current post and fix it..but I would like to help admin a new Section of tweaks, as i mentioned before. 1 post for requests, 1 post for discussion, and then a couple posts for different categories of reg tweaks. There would be no long code posts, no "look at my code, whats wrong with it" kind of thing. You can add that as an attachment, or whatever. Just my 2 cents...

Hey..I know a few people were working on cleaning up this post. I guess there is no luck? I tried and failed miserably. I did have an idea...I think it may have been mentioned... Start an all new post, 2 topics. 1 for requests, and for for solutions. And then allow people to slowly but surely copy over their individual tweaks, (not full reg codes, unless as an attachment). Treat it like the Switches post....I know this has been discussed...but I keep tryin to search for reg edits, and i wanna hit myself cause I can't find any in the 62 pages of garbage. Another idea would be to make a BIG category of switches on the main board, then divide up into things like "performance switches" "visual switches" "internet switches" just to get a bit of organization in here.....

I'm hoping people will post fixes and problems with Firefox 0.9. Sometimes when I launch a link from AIM, 2 Firefox windows pop up. 1 is double sized(i have 2 monitors), and its blank, with no shortcuts. The second window shows up in front of it, with all links working and the correct page displayed. Sometimes both windows are normal sized, but same thing happens (1 blank, 1 not). I have Single Window extension as my only installed extension

OE is hard to unistall. Go into Add/Remove programs and Microsoft Components. Other than that...good luck. I don't know if Outlook uses the OE engine, because Outlook is an independant program, self contained in office.

As I've said before, I use Yahoo. I've been using for 2 years+ and the true secret to spam avoidale, is to have 2 addresses. 1 for signing up for stuff, and one for personal and work correspondance. I'm not saying this is the only thing, but its worked for me so far!

I am heading your advice Xtreme. I think I may forgo a 64 bit laptop for the moment. There aren't enough options for me to make a good purchase. Toshiba & Dell are my top choices, but neither of them have or plan(as they told me on the phone) to carry 64 bit machines anytime soon. For now, I am getting a Dell or Toshiba. 512+ MB of RAM, integrated wifi, Bluetooth, firewire, DVD Burner, etc.

I know this can work in analog..if the time coding stream gets ruined, you can copy one ruined tape to another one with a working time sync. I have a mpeg at the moment, and the time coding is messed up. Any way to fix that? What happens is when I click on part of the movie, it won't go there. The time will run, but no video/audio comes up. If i click on a different part of the time line, it goes there. I hope this all makes sense...

I'm an AMD person... But I will check out Acer.. Simply, I want to get a 64 bit because its going to become my main machine, my tool for work, and everything I do will be on it. I plan on using it for a LONG time... And, its a gift, so its not all my greens. I may chip in some if the cost runs too high, butI figure that I don't have the finances to buy this sucker fully myself yet.

I am probably getting a 64 Bit Laptop for my birthday/graduation gift. I know E-Machines makes one, but I wanted to know if anyone knew of other brands to consider or look at?

I had similiar...It could a totally unrelated thing, but AIM has had audio ads, which scared me cause I didn't know what cause them. Maybe? perhaps?

Can someone help me? I will go through and remove the non-submission posts. Can someone else find a way to organize it, be it services or otherwise or something? And someone to look for redundancy? Maybe as a team effort, we can clean up this thread....

I agree 100%. I would like to help somehow with the effort. Even if redundant tweaks exist, could we make this a TWEAK only posting, and have another post for requests?
