  1. You have to build a Repackaged version of this hotfixe in order to get rid of the annoying Pop-up OR use the RegTweak (you'll have to make sure you added reg.exe to your system32 folder to use as Windows XP)
  2. VMware is really worth the price tag. Far superior to VirtualPC.
  3. I remember having a hard time with Partition Magic me too... finally, I downloaded a All-In-One Norton CD and I took the floppy image from there.
  4. take a look here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...5&hl=protecting
  5. I just ran a few simulation lately and I noticed that I cannot change the title of my RunOnceEx panel anymore. It always display Windows Update. This must be the result of one of the latest Hotfixes... REG ADD %KEY% /V TITLE /D "RIP 2005" /f
  6. Ah crap! It looks like I had the old version of Windows Installer Integrated not V2... Running another simulation now...
  7. I have integrated this update to my svcpack.inf but when I go to windows update it still ask me for Windows Installer 3.1 and then I have to reboot...
  8. Yes, I integrated the Update Rolloup 1 in my I386 folder... afterward, I changed the switch to /passive /norestart /quiet and I moved the update to the bottom of the list also. The original switch were /q /n /z and I guess I could but them back now...
  9. Unplug your Network Cable and run the installation to see if it is going into loop
  10. Hello once again! I finally decided to move my Application folder to a Network Share (to save space on my CD) and I'd like a simple mecanism to check if the network is accessible and if not, a warning message to tell that the programs weren't installed. so, first lets specify that I am launching my RunOnceEx command from GuiRunOnce in my winnt.sif: [GuiRunOnce] %windir%\Temp\Install\RunOnceEx.cmd Here is the part I want to work out in RunOnceEx.cmd: IF NOT EXIST \\My\Network\Share\check.txt (GOTO WARNING) ELSE GOTO INSTALL :WARNING How would I make a prompt box with a OK button? :INSTALL SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx REG ADD %KEY% /V TITLE /D "Stop Picking your Nose Please" /f REG ADD %KEY%\001 /VE /D "Nero© Burning ROM 6.6" /f REG ADD %KEY%\001 /V 1 /D "\\My\Network\Share\Applications\Nero\NERO.exe /silent /noreboot /no_ui" /f rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess That's about it. You get the idea...
  11. I had to play around to make it work with my svcpack.inf... sufficient to say it should be installed at last otherwise it will still show up on Windows Update. svcpack.inf [CatalogHeader] [Version] BuildNumber=2195 MinorVersion=0 MajorVersion=5 Signature="$WINDOWS NT$" [SetupData] CatalogSubDir="\I386\svcpack" [SetupHotfixesToRun] ie6setup.exe /Q:A /R:N setup_wm.exe /Q:A /R:N KB329115.exe /passive /norestart /quiet KB828026.exe /passive /norestart /quiet "KB832483.exe /C:""dahotfix.exe /q /n"" /q:a" KB833989.exe /Q:A /R:N KB842773.exe /passive /norestart /quiet KB873374.exe /Q:A /R:N KB883939.exe /passive /norestart /quiet KB890046.exe /passive /norestart /quiet KB893803.exe /passive /norestart /quiet KB894320.exe /passive /norestart /quiet KB896358.exe /passive /norestart /quiet KB896422.exe /passive /norestart /quiet KB897715.exe /passive /norestart /quiet Update Rollup 1.exe /passive /norestart /quiet [ProductCatalogsToInstall] sp5.cat KB814078 is still required but should be installed later (after a reboot) with RunOnceEx or a batch file... As you can see, there is still a lot of hotfixes required
  12. I don't see anything wrong... here is another link: http://66.131.144.223:88/MSFN/Win2K3-STD-SETUPLDR.BIN
  13. I would agree with that IF Windows 2003 Server SP1 (32-Bits) would work! Since it has the same issues as 64-Bits, it must be something else.
  14. This observation bring in a 3rd possibility to the equation... maybe the setupldr.bin file isn't the cause of the problem, an other file may be responsible for that...
  15. Take a look at this topic http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...rench+caracters
  16. KB893066 (v2) is listed has a new update and is mentionned in the update log. I think this is obvious that v1 is no longer required otherwise, I'll have to mention every month that KB890830 is removed? KB890175 is still listed under Windows Update from a clean install point. I know that it won't probably show up if you install all the other hotfixes but my experience tell me I should leave it there. When SP2 came along, the GDI+ update was supposed to be unecessary but it was still showing up sometimes on certain configuration.
  17. Hm... I'm not sure about this link, I might have to read something so I rather not take any chances...
  18. reading. ..?. that's an interesting concept. Can you tell me more about it?

  20. Well, it was listed when I ran my simulation a few hours ago... I'll re-run the simulation later to see if something has changed *** EDIT *** It seems to be the case for Windows 2000 SP4...
  21. Here is the Results for Windows XP SP2 *** NEW *** KB896428 KB896422 KB896358 KB890046 KB883939 KB890830 (removal tool) KB893066 (V2) Take note that KB890923 is no longer necessary I'll update the first page soon...
