  1. wow, are you planing on selling your software? cause this is the world of free/open/non profit software and if you wanna play this way then copyright your name and your code, if you don't just build a vista pack addon for xpize and help us out. no one was intented to "steal" your name
  2. i'm working on it rick, cmd patchers i made are patching succesfully these path. I'll consider adding a batch script for those files if i can't solve this with vize code. oh, and i do have a codeplex account, actualy i made one as soon as you mentioned codeplex, with the username doomangel
  3. thanx to all. Are you ready to download?

Please uninstall Tango Shell Patcher or Vize before installing this. It might screw your system up. Report any bugs you might find, things you like and things you don't. remember is in beta stage still. You will find a shortcut in the start menu under KDE Vista Patcher. Thanx to all and especially to XPero. Oh, and BTW XPero check it and tell me if you would like to change anything.
  5. that would be nice and it is an easy thing to be done. Like you did with your extra resources only the filelist.xml and the \resources folder are needed. Someone could create a nsis installer and just install those files inside the vize/xpize's folder. I'm curious to see what happens with XPero, Happy-Dude and W3bbo and how it will be organized.
  6. all right, here's the first question. is it possible to use relative paths instead of absolute in vize? also there must be something wrong with the spacing in vize, just like ricktendo64 has mentiond about sidebar.exe it looks that the same problem exist with c:\program files\internet explerer\iexplore.exe for example. Any ideas?
  7. i'm in, i can contribute in many ways. i will release a version for my project sometime soon and after that i'm ready for vize/xpize. a matter that needs attention is the status of the release license. should it released under the gnu(any version)?
  8. so this is going seriously, ah? icon resources there is no need to be created. just extracted from the right locations. xpero used the existing vista icons to replace the remaining xp icons. i, for myself, haven't used the new xpize.net. i'm talking just for vize.
  9. just ask yourselves what more you'd wanted xpize/vize todo and we'll build a wishlist, we'll see what is possible and what is not and i think that we always could ask xpero for a little help.
  10. I've working in a project based on vize code for a month now and what i have done is some minor changes or additions to the codebase. i don't think the code needs improvement, if we could create a team our main goal should be to discover all the non vista or non xp icons and replace the resources.
  11. Alt+Enter is a key combination that should work for swaping full screen/windowed mode
  12. the whole point is that turning Windows Server 2008 to workstation-like is easier than turning Vista SP1 to a more light Version by deactivating services and removing unneeded components to build a gaming OS(such as Media Center and Aero for example)
  13. That's true! Gaming could be even better in xp (provided you don't intend to run directx 10 compatible games). But with server 2008 you might not be able to use vlite! yes i want DirectX10 gaming thats the whole point. I still will be keeping my super fast xp for regular gaming. not sure if windows 2008 supports DirectX 10 in fact it supports DirectX 10.1
  14. That's true! Gaming could be even better in xp (provided you don't intend to run directx 10 compatible games). But with server 2008 you might not be able to use vlite! There is the alky project aka DirectX 10 on Windows XP! Alky dosen't work, you just get DirectX 9.0L Compiling with DirectX 10 SDK?DirectX 9L is actually Direct X 10, the L is from Longhorn

  16. Right now i'm using vLite to integrate WDS 2008 LP's to Windows Vista SP1 ISO, which should work, maybe we've found Windows Vista SP1 LP's! i'll test it and i'll tell you
  17. check out the "vLiting the Universe" topic
  18. did u tested it ? or have link for that such of test cos im search about that long time thx Windows 2008 are the same with Vista SP1, some UI services are deactivated and some other Server-like that are also included in Vista Enterprise are activated. You have try different configs
  19. Dude, i believe that Windows Server 2008 could be a better gaming os with the removal of some services.
  20. 1st thanx alot nuhi for your great work with vLite! 2nd I'm using vLite along with microsoft's WAIK, the reason is that the integrating of hotfixes/drivers/unattended install and component removal is far more easy, it can be done through WAIK and BDD but it's far more complicated. The other reason is that i want to "slipstream" themes directly, basically i'm mounting the image with WAIK, i navigate to themes, dreamscene and wallpapers folders and adding more staff, i also integrate the "hacked" theming dll's. since there is people who can't work with command prompt and can't handle WAIK it would be a good addition to integrate themes, wallpapers, dreams (by simply copying them to the apropriate folders) and those nasty "hacked" theming dll's. i believe that's an easy the most 10line code function to add plus some UI additions Thanx again nuhi!
  21. it is a hard work to be done but i will check my 566 list hotfixes on my hard disk and the datasheet from microsoft that contains all the fixes already integrated in sp1 and i will post those not included.
  22. attention!dumb question this way comes! how do i use Vize source patcher? i place it in the same folder along with vize package? and second dumb question, what about Tiize?could Vize source patcher be compatible with Tiize since it is based on XPero's super-project?
  23. Hail from Greece! I downloaded the windows vista sp1 iso and the new version of waik for windows vista sp1 and windows server 2008, i integrated about 500 hotfixes, ultimate extras etc and i made a clean install. When i entered Control Panel\Installed Updates the only update shown was kb938371, kb937287, kb935509 i checked for automatic updates and it installed Dreamscene, Hold'em, BitBlocker and silverlight. Does anybody know if i am able to integrate Dreamscene content packs(kb941236, kb931133) for example or i must wait for a new release for sp1?Vista sp1 includer the .net 2.0 sp1 framework update(kb110806)?
