  7. yes... these 3 drives are on a onboard promise 100 controller...i will probably put the 3.2 on it as well. my 2 CD-RW, and DVD-Rom are on the motherboards standard controller. should i have seperate swap files for winXP and win 98? i could put 2 3.2 drives in, which would take up all my ide channels, or split the 3.2 into 2 partitions.
  8. i have a few old Maxtor 3.2 gig hard drives lying around and i was thinking of using one as a swap file. would this make sense? would it help? waste of time? Athlon 1200 768 PC133 Maxtor 60GB win 98SE Maxtor 80GB winXP Maxtor 160GB Storage

  16. Win XP and 2000 allows you to mount hard drives as folders in a pre-existing hard drive by using the Computer Management applet in the Admin. Tools Control Panel. This will let you seemlessly move all your apps or games onto a new drive without having to reinstall them. Take the directory you want to move to the new drive and copy every file and folder in it to the new NTFS formated drive. After you are sure they have copied, delete them from the original drive. Now, go to the Control Panel, open Administrative Tools, and fire up the Computer Management applet. Open Disk Management and right click your new disk. Select the "Change Drive Letter and Paths" option and press Add. Select "Mount in the following empty NTFS folder," and point it to the newly empty folder on your original drive.
  17. can you unzip AoxSTIAp.exe with winrar or something. maybe you could get the drivers that way.

  22. found this site a while back. some funny stuff. Once in school I was bringing some document on a diskette to our principal. She was on the phone. While waiting I began playing with the sliding metal shutter on the diskette. She looked at me sternly and told me to stop it or viruses would get in. http://rinkworks.com/stupid/
  23. kt400 is gonna be a big deal Despite the current situation with thermal protection circuitry, some boards are still equipped with the old thermistors. In the short term, a general improvement on the market is not in sight, because most of the manufacturers have long since introduced their KT-333 boards, and moreover, they don't expect to integrate thermal protection circuitry on their boards until a new chipset has been launched (e.g., VIA KT333A or KT400). i will wait for the new thernal protection AMD is requiring of board man. in order to get AMD's backing.
