  1. I'm pretty sure I've got a copy of these drivers at home somewhere. PM me if you still need them with your email, and if small enough, I can zip send to you. WwTIPPYwW
  2. this method takes some time....are you sure it is hung and not just SLOW?
  3. ethux - i edited it out the path, thinking it was unneeded and so thanks for the update. My instructions do say where to save the INF to, and also the install has it as a full path. creating the INF install k-lite codec pack 2.25 on your computer using the command line switch /SAVEINF="%SYSTEMDRIVE%\install.inf" how i use the INF REG ADD %KEY%\115 /V 06 /D "%CDROM%\Software\klcodec225\klcodec225f.exe /VERYSILENT /SP- /LOADINF=\"%CDROM%\Software\klcodec225\install.inf\"" /f
  4. as stated earlier - [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management] "PagingFiles"=hex(7):53,00,3a,00,5c,00,70,00,61,00,67,00,65,00,66,00,69,00,6c,\ 00,65,00,2e,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,20,00,32,00,30,00,30,00,30,00,20,00,32,00,\ 30,00,30,00,30,00,00,00,00,00 is the setting, however it is in HEX. when you look at it in the registry it looks like this: S:\pagefile.sys 2000 2000 my pagefile is on the S drive and it is min 2000 and max 2000 So, set how you want it, export it out and then you can import it into your unattended without setting up a batch file!
  5. I second that....if you do quote it...snip it
  6. Using InstallRite for Office seems like a bad idea. Office has its own custom installer tools. That would seem to be the best way to go. But to each his own.
  7. Are your RAR sfxs set to overwrite the files? ALSO - i found this just solved by myself: language executable creates a directory in user's temp folder: take it, make an xcopy batch that copies its contents in the program folder and that's it and this just extract the contents of the language packs and copy them into your nero folder if you want to select them as main language HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\General" add "Language" REG_SZ or actually modify the value to "FRA,ENG" the first value FRA will be the main language... Can you just do a modified custom installer. Install NERO silently like normal. Then do a snapshot with INSTALLRITE and then install the language pack. Then create a custom installer. It seems as though it is just a matter of overwritting files?
  8. Solid - I believe I got them in this forum. But not 100% sure. Maybe Nero's site had a forum or something. Or maybe just compared the registries. Do a snapshot before configuration and then after. Then compare the results.

  10. REG ADD %KEY%\160 /VE /D "Diskeeper 8.0.478" /f REG ADD %KEY%\160 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\Diskeeper\DKsetup.exe /s /v/qn" /f REG ADD %KEY%\160 /V 2 /D "REGEDIT /S %CDROM%\Software\Diskeeper\Diskeeper.reg" /f
  11. have you tried just deleting from the snapshot the stuff you don't want? Then your custom installer wont have it either.
  12. Alex - are you testing by burning cds or making images and testing in VMWare or Virtual PC? Do the later one and you don't waste so many blanks.
  13. it looks like your switches are wrong then. openoffice\response.txt\program it wants to extract to this location and so you need to re-do your switches.
  14. do you need to add this switch: /language= making sure that the language selected is the right one (and I guess in the format that they want)
  15. maybe you need to make a custom installer - of at least the language pack. So instead of installing it, you just sort of overwrite files with the language files. Try using InstallRite to make a custom installer of the language pack.
  16. search in the application switches thread...its all there. even a script to auto-update the reflist file.
  17. do all the response.txts need the qualification? the first one is w/o. as you have it now - OpenOffice\setup.exe -r response.txt -d OpenOffice\response.txt should it be OpenOffice\setup.exe -r OpenOffice\response.txt -d OpenOffice\response.txt do you need to actually have the full path too? d:\OpenOffice\setup.exe -r d:\OpenOffice\response.txt -d d:\OpenOffice\response.txt
  18. do a registry compare of before inputting serial and after....maybe it gets encrypted in the registry. and/or set the system date ahead a year and then load the serial number. Then see which files were modified on that date. Perhaps it is not in the registry
  19. InstallRite is great - it lets you clean your custom installers and set it so it is silent and no reboots. Plus you can set it to use variables. It has it limits, but it is a good way to get a head start on a custom installer.
  20. I believe that the InstMsiA.Exe & InstMsiW.Exe files are unneeded - I think they are for updating the windows installer. With XP - they should be up to date already. Not 100% sure - but it might be something you can check out. this would save you some space on the cd. Did a quick google - To download the Windows Installer file from the Web, visit one of the following Microsoft Web sites: Instmsia.exe for Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition: http://download.microsoft.com/download/WindowsInstaller/Install/2.0/W9XMe/EN-US/InstMsiA.exe -or- Instmsiw.exe for Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP: http://download.microsoft.com/download/WindowsInstaller/Install/2.0/NT45/EN-US/InstMsiW.exe
  21. what program are you having issues with? perhaps you need to find where the serial is kept - registry or a config file and then update whichever as part of the install.
  22. if still having issues - try a program like InstallRite to create a custom installer for this.
  23. two part answer - #1 - post in the correct forum - the APPLICATION SWITCHES forum - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=80 #2 - K-Lite Codec Pack is a good package. install k-lite codec pack 2.25 on your computer using the command line switch /SAVEINF="install.inf" and then when you want to silent install use /SILENT /SP- /LOADINF="install.inf"
  24. try in the registry. get a registry comparison program - create a snapshot. make the changes. create a second snapshot. compare.
