Please redownload to get version 2.4 Known issue: Previous use of WimFltr v.1 by e.g. imagex version 6.0.6001 (e.g. for making BB-7PE or W7PEX) would result in reg load error when using Make_PE3 programs, but the program will detect and STOP before building 7 PE It means that when Make_PE3 has mounted boot.wim with Dism, that reg load of PE registry would fail. Solution: simply Reboot before using Make_PE3 programs to STOP WimFltr v.1 Requirements and Info - See post #1 Download - Make-PE3 Download - Make_PE3_plugins

  8. Registry files in Make_PE3_plugins.exe were causing the problem that harddisk drives were invisible in 7 PE when the required program files for the plugin were not supplied by the user. I have updated already Make_PE3_plugins.exe to overcome the problem. Thanks Rootman for solving the issue. :
  9. = *** Update of Make_PE3 package to Create Portable Windows 7 PE *** = Changed - Audio_Fix is used only to install audio driver and is not needed anymore to fix the registry Install of Audio driver is integrated in Driver_Fix.cmd - Thanks to JFX for solving Audio issues http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=23931&st=115 Added - Runscanner to edit Remote Registry - Thanks to paraglider Added - Video Driver support - Thanks to JFX for list of needed files and for registry key http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=23931&st=119 Added - Boot Images are collected in folder MULTI\images for making MultiBoot CD/DVD (use CD = YES or CD box Checked) Added - Make_MULTI_ISO.cmd batch program for easy remake of MultiBoot ISO files from folder MULTI for making CD/DVD Changed - Program Version - latest version is now 2.2 Thanks to JFX for solving Audio issues in 7 PE and giving the working procedure: Create the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio\Render key on build time and give access to everyone (SID S-1-1-0) which allows AudioEndpointBuilder in PE to modify the MMDevices key. http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=23931&st=115 DriverPack Vista (x86) Graphics A - folder G_A\ATI\4 is used in my case as Win 7 PE x86 video driver http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest The video driver can be installed after booting with 7 PE , but you can add also the video driver folder to Make_PE3\PE3_mod\WIN7_drivers\x86 so that Dism will add the driver to the build 7 PE (extra 12 MB) In the latter case Driver_Fix.cmd will install the video driver. Boot Images are collected in folder MULTI\images for making MultiBoot CD/DVD (use CD = YES or CD box Checked) Adjust the grub4dos boot menu to your needs by editing file menu.lst in folder MULTI Folder MULTI contains also PStart folder with Portable programs and Snow wallpaper.jpg You can add Linux Parted Magic pmagic-5.5.iso to folder MULTI\images http://partedmagic.com/download.html Add VLC Media Player Portable to your MULTI\PStart\Progs folder Download from http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable The files and structure of folder MULTI is universal and can be used for booting from HDD/USB or CD/DVD Use ImgBurn to burn CD/DVD from the created MULTI-dd-mm-yyyy.iso files in MULTI_ISO folder. In case when booting the 7 PE ISO Boot Image with Grub4dos from HDD or USB, then copy PStart folder and wallpaper.jpg as normal from folder MULTI to root of HDD or USB boot drive Requirements and Info - See post #1 Portable Windows 7 PE - Wireless Internet + Audio + Video Driver are working = =
  10. You can try to modify Make_PE3.cmd to give HTA support. Uncomment the two rules by removal of ":: " :: Dism.exe /image:"%PEWork%\mount" /Add-Package /PackagePath:"%PETools%\%ARCH%\WinPE_FPs\winpe-hta.cab" :: Dism.exe /image:"%PEWork%\mount" /Add-Package /PackagePath:"%PETools%\%ARCH%\WinPE_FPs\en-us\winpe-hta_en-us.cab" Then use Make_PE3.cmd with option 4 to make pe3_x86.iso using WAIK It was not build in ..... For boot problems try WinContig to make ISO on USB-HDD unfragmented. EDIT: Instead of adding HTA Package to pe3_x86.iso you can simply use IE8 Setting in making 7pe_86.iso to give you HTA Support. When IE8 is added to the build, I can e.g. run WPI Only adding HTA package did not work for me to run WPI Change Explorer Setting to IE8 (in cmd use 2x E) and use Option 2
  11. SP1 Beta hotfix update was not tested by me, but it would be strange if it had the effect that you described. May be you can try NOT to use VMWare. Boot instead with grub4dos menu on HDD or USB and Selecting then the 7 PE ISO BootImage for booting 7PE from RAMDISK. Otherwise you can use ImgBurn to burn your 7 PE and boot with CD. Do you have "X:\Program Files" folder in PE and are your program located there or somewhere else ?
  12. No problem here. It is a Selfextracting Archive. After download just double click.
  13. = *** Update of Make_PE3 package to Create Portable Windows 7 PE *** BugFix - WallCmd path error in amd64 version of 7 PE without external wallpaper - Thanks to Tepid and JFX Changed - bootfix.bin is copied to ISO, but renamed as bootfixX.bin so that it can be used on demand Added - ImgBurn and RegShot are added to PStart - useful to burn ISO on CD and to collect Registry for making plugins Added - 7-Zip - ImDisk - SuperFinder and xCHM viewer are added to 7 PE (all versions) Added - Support to make CD (use G4D = YES or CD box Checked) - Thanks to ChrisR for mkisofs code This enables to make MultiBoot CD with e.g. Linux Parted Magic and PStart menu for Portable Apps on CD Changed - Program Version - latest version is now 2.1 Known issue: Previous use of WimFltr v.1 by e.g. imagex version 6.0.6001 (e.g. for making BB-7PE or W7PEX) would result in reg load error when using Make_PE3 programs, but the program will detect and STOP before building 7 PE It means that when Make_PE3 has mounted boot.wim with Dism, that reg load of PE registry would fail. Solution: simply Reboot before using Make_PE3 programs to STOP WimFltr v.1 Requirements and Info - See post #1 Make_PE3_plugins Adding Programs before building the 7 PE ISO - The easiest way is to make use of plugins for Make_PE3 package. The Make_PE3_plugins.exe are selfextracting packages with addons, and containing files, registry and drivers for apps, and which contain Start Menu and Desktop icons and have similar folder structure as in Make_PE3 and as in 7 PE and Windows 7. Registry exported from Windows 7 or 7 PE can be used as reg files in the plugins, so that they can be made easily. The Export registry must be made suitable for import in the from PE3 loaded SYSTEM SOFTWARE and DEFAULT hive and have keys like [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\PE3-SYSTEM\.......... [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\PE3-SOFTWARE\.......... [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\PE3-USER\.......... In this way we can share and exchange easily plugins packages with addons. : As exemple you may download Make_PE3_plugins.exe for adding imaging software to Make_PE3 folder to build Portable 7 PE Run and Extract Make_PE3_plugins.exe in the same way as you did for Make_PE3.exe
  15. 16. You can boot from RAMDISK with PE ISO Boot Image loaded by grub4dos boot option in menu.lst on HDD. http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=21883&st=35#entry161425'>http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=21883&st=35#entry161425 http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=23931 http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=21883 Then you can Install Windows 7 on USB-HDD using section 3 of http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=23553 The tools are there to help you. Make_PE3.exe and BOOT_IMG.exe and IMG_XP package
  17. It is not that easy to answer .... Anyway you can have a look at file PE3-SYSTEM_WLAN.reg in folder PE3_mod\PE3_reg\x86 for audio registry and in Audio section of file WIN7_add_explor.txt in folder PE3_mod\WIN7_add\x86 In this thread there is more info on making audio work ... carenot asked about it For Open file to work have a look here http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=11278 You also need Desktop folder in userprofile e.g. Users\Default\Desktop Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop But everything is present in 7 PE build with Make_PE3
  18. *** Update of Make_PE3 package to Create Portable Windows 7 PE *** Changed - International support improved - rule with System Locale e.g. en-IN for India, can be addad to LangTime.txt in folder Make_PE3\makebt\vbscr Thanks to oriensol for error report and for making AutoIt3 Func _SetLangOptions() procedure, which uses file LangTime.txt to create GUI Menu of Make_PE3.exe Changed - Program Version - latest version is now 1.9 Known issue: Previous use of imagex version 6.0.6001 (e.g. for making BB7PE) results in reg load error when using Make_PE3 programs. 20. It works for Grub4dos ISO emulation, which you have confirmed .... You can combine this perfectly with PStart folder located on USB-stick outside the ISO. So I don't see why you want to do it differently. The "-" is converted to "_" seems to be caused by -force-uppercase since these characters are for me on the same key where "_" is the uppercase of "-" In my command there is no problem since the files are located inside the wim and their filenames cannot be converted. So if you remove -force-uppercase then it might work for you. You see that comparing ISO with Joliet and Rock Ridge dirs has given you more insight in the problem. But still I don't see the advantage of your approach.
  21. In Make_PE3 the ISO is made with mkisofs and: mkisofs.exe -iso-level 4 -force-uppercase -volid "Win7PE_x86" -b boot/etfsboot.com -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 8 -hide boot.catalog -duplicates-once -o "%PEWork%\7pe_x86.iso" "%PEWork%\ISO" Remarkable differences with your code for mkisofs: -boot-load-size 8 -b boot/etfsboot.com This is working OK to display Language at boot time using bootmgr.exe.mui
  22. Do you mean iso level 4 is not a good solution ? No, I mean mkisofs -iso-level 4 solves the problem, since it can handle long names, which might otherwise have been cut-off in the ISO directory. Isobuster can give insight about this (ISO Joliet and Rock Ridge dirs vary in case and in cut-off lenght) Check also influence of bootmgr versus BOOTMGR -iso-level 4 will make and display uppercase in Windows Explorer (ISO) -iso-level 3 will display lowercase in Windows Explorer (Joliet) grub4dos is case sensitive
  23. It might be caused by the winsxs folder name and manifest for bootmgr.exe.mui These names are extremely long and are probably needed. Check in winsxs with searchstring _fr-fr_ for differences in x86_microsoft-windows-b..ager-pcat.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7100.0_fr-fr_32f795006dffd3e5.manifest x86_microsoft-windows-b..ager-pcat.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7100.0_fr-fr_32f795006dffd3e5 x86_microsoft-windows-b..nment-pxe.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7100.0_fr-fr_cc8bb547901d906e x86_microsoft-windows-b..nment-pxe.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7100.0_fr-fr_cc8bb547901d906e.manifest -iso-level 4 can handle long names
  24. Thanks for informing me about the issue. At the moment I have no idea which change in Make_PE3 programs is causing the described effect. Do you have any idea what could be the reason ?
  25. It means you are using 32-bits version of bcdedit.exe in 64-bits OS environment. I thought better to use then the 64-bits version, but as you say the 32-bits version is more likely to be available and might work to do the job. For grub4dos you can use ISO emulation and everything will work OK. You can use BOOT_IMG.exe or direct Make_PE3.exe to install 7pe_x86.iso as boot option in grub4dos menu.lst on HDD or USB. title Boot 7pe_x86.iso - ISO find --set-root --ignore-floppies /7pe_x86.iso map /7pe_x86.iso (0xff) map --hook root (0xff) chainloader (0xff)/BOOTMGR
