good to know, thanks. i'll get to it now. then re-post it here. also, when i woke up avast found a trojan.. and apparently avast stops it before it does anything (correct me if im wrong).. so with that being said, i dont understand the 'abort connection' button or what that does, but i click on it because it tells me to.

i did as told based off this comment Default-color items are optional, red are known to be malicious. deleted everything that was red. the above posting was not listed in red and considered "optional". i didnt know if i was supposed to delete any/all of the "optional" stuff or not, so i left it. but i got rid of everything considered malicious. now that you post the 3 O3-'s.. are those supposed to be deleted ONLY? or do you want me to go through and get rid of the rest of the "optional" stuff as well? that's where the confusion was.

ugh, try not to focus on the image content but the quality of the image (no nudity just a female). it's something i found on myspace, but it's very clear, appears to have a lot of frames and is up to speed. it's basically my ideal image of a perfect .gif animation. what program can you accomplish something like that? also i have windvd7.. and use that to capture images, which works well (and i like windvd7), and it also has a video capture.. but its kinda crappy its only 15 seconds or less i think and it doesnt capture enough frames and isnt up to speed/fast enough for my liking and the appropriate size.. i can never get anything that small unless i capture the image, then resize them in photoshop.. then use the horrible .gif animator that i have which i dont even want to talk about its so awful

well here's an update i finally surrendered to SP2 (xp) .. i had it once, but the first time i had it it caused me to lag really bad. this time around everything seems ok. i got a lot more of the fixes/security updates and now have IE 7.0 (which i really like) so since those, i havent had any problems... that i'm aware of. but i guess i should re-download hijack this and post another log to see if you guys notice anything.

def think there's some sort of IE prob cause i cant even browse IE w/o some dumb popup now. when im on firefox everything is fine but when i go to IE i get problems. i have IE 6.0 i think do i need 7.0? can i even get 7.0 on XP SP1? why am i still under attack? this is so sad. i've never had problems til the past 2 days.

i did, that was a part of the process. i guess i can use firefox, but i def. dont PREFER it over ie. i cant transfer my bookmarks or set it as my default i dont even know where the options are anymore!! plus its so much harder to view myspace on firefox cause all the tables are out of wack and i have to scroll right all the time to view almost every horribly designed page. and images all have to load/reload up on firefox it takes forever sometimes im so impatient ie was a lot quicker/easier for me. apparently more costly too

i still dont seem clean. (COMPUTER). avast is picking up stuff from time to time, and it seems like when i open IE something happens. i always get these popups too that tell me to "clean" my computer or something is wrong. i def. don't click on them because i think they're apart of the problem. any final last steps? i posted my hijack logfile somewhere

THUS far, everything appears to be fine and a pretty simple process. a little time consuming, but its what i expected since im using several programs to get something accomplished. some of the programs i didnt get downloaded in the package i got, didnt get spyblaster, about b, win def, and ewido out of 10 or so programs on the list. hope ill be fine just using the other ones. but it was very helpful. i'd like to thank every/anybody for their contribution. i've been a member here for quite sometime and usually always get what i need solved relatively quickly. i appreciate it.

i actually just fell asleep and have to continue on w the trend micro (which seems to be working well) i will get back to you w/in 2 hrs here im hoping all this actually cleans me up good and im not vulnerable anymore

ok i downloaded a big package full of apps from a site above that i have to go to safemode to run first that i havent done yet currently doing trend micro then ill jump to that stuff

ok i went to that site posted above and got ad aware se and it seems that and the sbc yahoo one pick up this TrojanDownloader with a TAC of 10 which i guess is the most.. but it doesnt seem to be DELETING. cause ive done scans over and over and it keeps showing up i guess ad aware put it "quarantine" and its in my log file but none of this makes sense or means much to me i just want to CLEAN this computer totally.

Try to run Hijack this so we can see what processes are starting on your PC..
