Im telling you its the DSL connection. Have those other people also said they had a DSL connection? And have you tried to run BOOTVIS to help speed bootup time?

I like both. I rather Intel due to the fact I feel there easier to overclock and lower on heat but Ive used AMD and for the price and speed they perfome great. I got 2 jobs for 2 people to build them a PC for under $550. I just got done today with the first one and for a complete system w/ XP 1700 I stayed below 400 that includes the monitor.

whats in your start up folder under your start menu?

its msn.com web server. There links to the jpgs are currently broken. Has nothin to do with your PC

DSL requires a user and password login. I had DSL for a few months and it drove me nuts the locking up. I never found a easy fix except disabling auto login and then having to click connect on my own. Ill do some research on this and see if a newer fix has been found as I have been on cable for a few months now
