Yes I am reading pretty much the same, I was a little miffed about the nades..... but I can see pop them on top of the building in Blizzard!! You need to get used to pressing the zoom button instantly....... but also aim lower than normal and more to the left when in CQB...... works for me!! Maybe see ya in game sometime!

The game is much better, even with its bugs....... the new maps are awesome, they require team players...... else it is more difficult to complete the maps. There is more recoil, so accuracy is key, but to help counter that bullet hits seem to cause more damage than before..... so one or two hits and your gone!! no surviving headshots. The only problem for me, is I am a SF Recon player..... and noone is playing at the minute!!! DOH!! Good value for money...... FREE DOWNLOAD!!

Hi guys, first off thanks for your suggestions, I tried them out on this modem and still no joy, but thanks anyway. GOOD NEWS though, I went into my loft and found an old modem, AST-255, I searched for some drivers on the net and downloaded them, installed it all PERFECTLY.... I am amazed, I guess that this version of 98 does not like software modems, oh well all is sorted out. Once again, thanks for your help guys, this is what makes MSFN so damned good!!

I don't normally have anything to do with computers that still have WIN98SE on them, however a mate of mine who has a: Pentium II 266MMX 128mb ram 10gb hd 2mb S3 video card Creative labs sound card 1 x CD-ROM 1 x CD-R burner Recently he decided to catch up with the 21st century and wanted to get onto the internet, but I am not paying for broadband he says, he is a bit of a technophobe when it comes to computers. So I opened his box, and he has got 1 free PCI slot, no problems, nips out to my local computer hardware supplier and got a mercury modem (Intel chipset 1537EP), I have used these before and never had any issues (granted never put one into a Win98 machine before). I slots it into the motherboard and restarts the machine, installs the drivers and checks the device manager, it comes up with the following error: NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not be load the device driver. (Code 2) It then says I need to update the driver......?? So I downloaded the driver from the Mercury website, burn it to CD on my laptop and this was a newer version and it loaded into the machine, I rebooted and again I get the same error message. I found this on here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=12005 and followed it, but it made no difference. I then decided to backup his data and reformat and reinstall..... so an hour later it is done, I install the "newly" downloaded driver and I get the same issue. A search of google reveals nothing that has been helpful, it most points to USB devices being connected, a USB mouse is connected to this machine but it is working fine. The modem is phyisically okay as I slotted it into my XP machine and it loaded up okay, connected to the net okay. I thought that maybe the modem does not work with Win98SE or the spec of the computer was not high enough, however it is just over the minimum specs required. Does ANY one have an idea as to what I can do to get this sorted out, I am near to chucking this machine out of the window!!! All help/advice is gratefully received.

You need to turn system restore off and run your spyware programs in Safe mode without network. ie NO internet connection. as has been suggested in the above posts.
-
If you want to stop them, they used to slow my site down, you can create a file called robots.txt enter: User-agent: * Disallow: / and save it, upload into your webspace and no more robots...... for more information visit: http://www.searchengineworld.com/robots/robots_tutorial.htm

Very Slow internet connection through wireless
TomcaT replied to gui_m's topic in Networks and the Internet
Check the DHCP client list to make sure noone else is using your internet connection. Enable WPA if your other wireless computers support it else WEP is better than nothing, also enable MAC address filtering, it at least gives you some security. -
http://hjt.iamnotageek.com/ Go here, copy and paste you log into it and then submit it, you are infected with lovely spyware!!! best remove them entries suggested by the parse in Safe Mode.

Hi, The volume on the mic is probably turned right down to 0. If you double click on the volume icon in your sys tray, click options, then click on properties, then click on Recording. Click OK Click on Select, and make sure the volume is turned right up for the microphone. Selecting Advanced you can boost your mic as well if needed.

I have a couple of 200gb Maxtor Diamondmax 10 SATA drives set up as Raid 1 (mirrored). My PC is a ASUS AV7N-E Deluxe MB, XP3200+ Barton, 1gb ram pc3200 in dual channel mode. I also have a ATA133 Maxtor 120gb HD and a 40gb. The OS is Win XPSP2, newly installed. I ran a program called HDTach, and it stated that the burst speed for the Sata raid is 114mb/s....... when I always thought Sata was 150mb/s I tested the 120 gb and it came back with 121mb/s!!!! Now for the question, why would the ATA drive be faster than the SATA? my initial thoughts are it is because the SATA is mirroring the data?? but I dont know. Can any one enlighten me? Also is there any software that can tweak the speed of the harddrives ? Thanks in advance.

A Free Place To Analyze Your Hijackthis Logs
TomcaT replied to prathapml's topic in Networks and the Internet
Anyone who has more to add to this is welcome! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I found the same yesterday on Google and was going to post here.... I think you should make this a "sticky" and it is an excellent resource. -
LMFAO..... I had it going on a 1ghz PIII with 256mb ram and a 64mb Geforce 2 card, just turn down the video settings and it played nicely, NOT brilliant but it was playable.
-
Moreover, what is the software that displayed that nice graph of your download speed??
-
You could try Americas Army, http://www.americasarmy.com you might need to turn some of the video settings down to get a decent frame rate.

Thanks for the heads up mate, I was going to look at it after your posts the other day!!! Guess I won't know!!

Thanks for the responses, I will follow those links up. Cheers.

Did you run these in Safe mode with the Administrator account? I have found that is the best place to get rid of spyware/hijacking rubbish. I also googled your "pest" and came across this, it is in Dutch but from the 2nd post the hi-jack this log looks like it is sorted, maybe you could compare this. LINK Hope that it helps. Cheers......... -
I don't know, using Pro....
