    logon

well, for one thing, try to go to Control Panel > User accounts > click on ur username > and select "remove my password" if there is any option like that.. if there isn't an option like that, then that means there are more than one user accounts on your computer which will make windows show the welcome screen every time you log on ... So what you need to do there is erase all accounts except the one you are going to use if you want XP to log in without stopping at the welcome screen... Hope this helps, Blackwar
  3. also check this out filer : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-US;q217210 and http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-US;q306559 Blackwar
  4. in my opinion, the boot.ini file for u should look something similar to this, any little error in the boot.ini will cause the files not to be found, so try to be careful on that.. I tried to base this boot config. on the instructions given here [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows ME"
  5. so is everything working a-ok now?
  6. im not completely sure of this, but in the first entry , you didn't put a drive letter before \Windows and it works, in the second one you have.. i think if you remove the F:\ it will work because the partition(2) entry should take care of figuring out which drive you are telling it to boot to.. i hope i could explain what i mean.., basically remove the F:\ and try again hope this helps, Blackwar
  7. He wants to host a game server, I wouldn't advise doing that in Virtual PC/VMWare. i think i misunderstood then i thought he was just going to host this game server once in a while in his regular-use PC.. If he is going to have a seperate PC dedicated just for this game, then yea, what u are doing is right Also , before taking any action , did you try to run the server in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode? Blackwar
  8. on thing, have you ever tried to install windows ME using a kind of emulation program like VMWare or virtual pc? Because these emulate almost any OS you want it to emulate and they work flawlessly.. you can see more of what i mean here : http://www.suse.de/en/products/software/vi...creenshots.html Just thought i'd ask since it would make it a LOT easier Blackwar
  9. lol uschie-- if u didn't know, Pia and Chris are old friends (well at least on the net) and they kid around like that with each other, so try not to take it so seriously Blackwar
  10. i guess there are going to be errors in the beta/RC stages of invision so we can't really do much about that, but to fix your problem, try copying what you wrote before pressing "Add reply" then if it shows an error, go back and paste it there and try again.. it is probably temporary, hopefully it will be fixed soon hope this helps, Blackwar
