It looks like batch_file.cmd is executed, right? That would mean the C:\Install folder is present, so the subfolders should be as well. Are you sure there's no typos in the actual installation command (setup.exe instead of setuppro.exe, spaces, etc.)?

IIRC, you can just add it to the i386 folder on the installation CD.

Keep your hair on I've compated your answer file with mine, and found one major difference: [Identification] JoinDomain=%MACHINEDOMAIN% DoOldStyleDomainJoin=Yes AFAIK this is how Setup Manager configured it, and it's been working without problems for years. Of course, this means the account that is used to log on during the RIS text phase needs to have permissions to create computer accounts, but we have a generic installation account just for that purpose.

When created via Setup Manager, the [OSChooser] section is always at the end of the RIS answer file. I don't know if that's mandatory or anything, but you might try moving the [GuiRunOnce] section up in the answer file. IIRC, Setup Manager places it between the [Networking] and the [RemoteInstall] section.

Add "AutomaticUpdates=Yes" to the [Data] section.

So you can for instance use start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\Nero\"NL Taal.exe" /silent /noreboot or start /wait "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\Nero\NL Taal.exe" /silent /noreboot As long as the part of the full path that contains spaces is enclosed in quotation marks, you're OK.

[nit-pick]Officially it should be %SystemRoot%; %windir% is a left-over from the NT 4.0 days and actually points to %SystemRoot% (see "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment")[/nit-pick] Anyway, I chose not to use it here in order not to confuse paul4ut... Plus, you never know if a trojan or spyware infection might have changed the %windir% value, and most people have their Windows installation in C:\WINDOWS anyway

That's even stranger... Ping is a Win32 application that should never result in this error message (which is related to 16-bit applications running in a virtual DOS machine). Have you checked your system for viruses/spyware already? There may be another executable called "ping.exe" somewhere on the disk that's found in the search path before the "real" one. To test, open a command prompt window and type C:\WINDOWS\system32\ping.exe www.google.com (Assuming your Windows folder is C:\WINDOWS). Also make sure you don't have a proxy server configured: Internet Options / Connections tab / "LAN Settings" button / uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN" option.

Pages are black? Does the address of the page appear in the address bar? Are you able to ping the address of the web site you're trying to reach?

The GuiRunOnce section adds the commands to the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce key, which is designed to work like that. Check out the Windows setup timeline reference for more info.

I don't think Windows hotfixes have any dependencies except the correct service pack. A hotfix that isn't applicable simply won't install.

Are you getting any error message? If so, which one?
