Help i can't install windows 2000 on my laptop, i boot it up from the disc everything goes fine untill it gets to copying the files at 12% it hangs and stays there even if i leave it for along time it doesn't move.What am i doing wrong for this to happen.


Damaged installation CD? Damaged hard disk? Faulty memory?

None of those i tryed it with two other Windows 2000 cd's and still get the same thing happen.

What kind of system you're trying to install on ?

Have you tried pressing the "F5" key when prompted to press "F6", and selecting the "Standard PC" type?

I had a similar problem turned out to be the motherboard was faulty on one machine and needed updating on another
