  1. Ok, now that the post is placed in it's right place... any ideas?
  2. Hi! I'm doing a little hacking on Windows 2000 shell. It's all almost done except for explorer button bars (back, up, copy, paste, refresh, etc...) and internet explorer ones. Where are them stored so I can hack them and change to whatever icons I want? Thank you all
  3. Hi to you all! I have Windows XP x64 Edition English CD and the MUI interface CD too. I installed successfully the Spanish MUI in unnattended mode, but now I have a question: if I want to slipstream / integrate any hotfixes / service packs with nlite, wich language do I choose for them? Is any way to slipstream / integrate DirectX or some updated cabs with nlite (as HFSLIP does with x86 version). Thanks to you all
  4. I'd would be nice to see some pics. I'm very interested in XPizing Win2k too
  5. I was looking for it too, but seems that no one has made or ported it (yet)
  6. Same to me. I need to know which is the registry tweak between them. By the way I think there are 3 modes: office XP mode, flat mode and normal mode.
  7. Think this will work, but as I explain there, they are no office like menus, only flat windows classic style ones. I would like to change it office like, but I don't know how with only registry tweak. By the way: here
  8. That's what I want to enable via registry tweak!!!! Nlite does it as an option, but wich is the registry modification to get it?
  9. To revert from flat to normal you have to change registry key. By the way nlite adds a "Office XP" style in start menu selection, that I don't know HOW to change it on off via registry (it's not affected by your color template in windows, in Classic Visual Style, by default, always remains dark blue). In fact the registry key to turn off on flat menus is this: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "UserPreferencesMask"=hex:90,32,XX,80 where XX=05 => 3d menus XX=07 => flat menus
  10. Ok exact problem is when you try to add remove anything in installation, I mean integrate drivers or remove components (at least they are which I have tried), nlite exits without any message or error. Simply dissapears. I slipstream dx9 ie6 mp9 and all hotfixes in w2000 plus my hacked system files regs and fixes for w2000. I don't include any third party app or any net framework. Nlite exits when I try to remove components or install drivers... Only that... annoying ANNOYING fact EDIT By the way, all this was made on a clean-formatted-wxp sp2, with only nlite, ultra iso and net framework 2 installed (without any net framework or system update) EDIT2 I hope it's for help to some people, specially you sunnyboymark: I found MY problem. After trying so many times with nlite 1.0.1 final, I made the conclussion that when you try to remove some components nlite crashed. I had hacked sfcfiles.dll to remove file protection, and THAT was the problem. I downloaded nlite 1.0 final, and it gave me the solution, because before exiting it displayed this error message "Wrong compression on sfcfiles.dl_" (or something similar, ver 1.0.1 didn't display that message...). This was due to I renamed sfcfiles.dll to sfcfiles.dl_ instead of makecabbing it. Now I had compressed it and It works like charm. I hope the nlite 1.0.1 exit errors are due to wrong compression on some archives, and the fact that that version of nlite doesn't display the right error message.
  11. Well, thanks buddy, thanks a lot. It would be great to do with a little hack, to improve visuals of W2K, and to establish that WXP is the SAME that W2K with more drivers and skins ¬¬
  12. It happens to me either when trying to nlite a HFSLIPPED Windows 2000. It simply dissapears out of the tray... I tried in Windows 2000 itself and in a clean formatted Windows XP (well in Windows 2000 gives error in XP simply dissapears), with the same SOURCESS.
  13. Anyone knows any trick to do it? From reg hacks to system file hacks... but NOT any resident progs or anything like that. It's to integrate it with HFSLIP. Thanks
