  1. Its the new update for roots certificate for windows xp
  2. Yes, several times. I will continue looking for the answer. Could the roots update have anything to do with it?
  3. I added KB925876 in spanish and KB931836. All went fine, except that Windows Update remains complaining about KB920342, I don't know why.
  4. Thanks for the quick answer. I use 70208a test version, that's correct. I didn't read the changelog, only checked your last posts and tested with VMWare. And yes, I mean 928388, typing mistake . I will download KB931836 and check it out. I didn't see Windows Update complaining about the new IE7 update, but I will check it out too. I don't know where comes the problem with KB920342, but until a few days (before KB931836 was released) was the only that failed to slipstream. I will continue to investigate the problem. Thanks again, I will post my results. EDIT Ok, it still does not exist KB928089 in spanish. KB896344 does not exist in spanish but KB925876 does exist. I'm updating the config and see what happens.
  5. When I slipstream and install Windows XP SP2, Windows Update complains about KB929120, KB928388 and KB920342. I use latest HFSLIP test version and this is my configuration:
  6. Tell me where and I will fix it. Because if I take a pic from Windows Vista RTM Final, the System Dialog does not seem like the one in Win2k at all. Try a photoshop fix to see where that bmp goes, OR try to fix yourself and send the code.
  7. For me, it works with the default script (the one you posted up there). Besides I have modified it and now its contents are correctly displayed (at least are displayed the same that Windows 2000 default one). But the fact is that script mod must be done with the installer. I will tell damian to include in the update. As you see, all text is translated to spanish. Here is a pic:
  8. Yep it's working for me BUT I have to talk to damian to change the windows version to say: Windows 2000 Professional not Windows Vista.
  9. Yep, recently. I'm doing some addition to Damian's pack. All of this with his agreement, of course. I'm very interested in the 2K2Vista hack project (I thought it was a suitable name, since my 2k to Xp hack was named 2K2XP Hack lol) But it's hard to "adapt" Vista resources to XP / 2K because they are in lots of different files. You see, for example the icon for "Network cable disconnected" that popups in the system tray when... you disconnect the cable lol, well it was lost in the twilight in some odd file that 2K neither XP has. Of course I added it to 2K, but I have to see what Damian says of all my additions And by the way, any help is apprecciated
  10. There are lots of files that are different in hacking from 2K to XP, I promise. And the Vista pack is going to be "XP icon mode-less", I mean, we will remove as much XP format icons as possible (since they are useless space because Win2k doesn't handle them) and replace a few with True colored icons, that 2K DO handle. So,installing this Vista pack in XP will require a re-build. For now (and I'm talking for me) I will focus in trying to improve the 2K2Vista icon hack and the 2K2XP icon hack. Anyway, to have Vista style in XP there are other hacks like the Vista Transformation Pack. But I noticed that there are icons that are not updated to the final version of Vista. I think soon there will be released a updated VTP.
  11. Question... (maybe noobie one) Since .NET 3.0 can't be installed at T-13, which folder should I put it in to be installed at first gui logon? Thanks
  12. XP one seems to work in XP. I tried to slipstream it and worked successfully.
  13. And when Windows is activated... are the hotfixes installed? After IE7 or something?
  14. Ok tommyp you were absolutely right. The sfcfiles.dll was the problem. Aparently other times it worked because I asked nlite to re-patch that file (was saved in my nlite profile) and I didn't notice it. But when I quit using nlite, then the file was not patched and all this hell begun. Now I have slipstreamed all updates, and I also tried to integrate IE7 and WMP11. WMP11 is successfully integrated BUT IE7 it is not, nor at T-13 (because of the activation as you say. I will try to do at first logon). By the way, how can I include slipstream IE7 updates if its installed at first logon? Thanks for the help to everybody...
  15. tommyp I've tried it before and it works. Its an empty file, HFSLIP detects it as empty sfcfiles.dll and asks you to delete catalog files. By the way, I'm testing from 0 all this stuff, I will report my findings. Tests in Windows XP Home Edition SP2: 1) HF folder as I describe in my first post. The rest are empty (FIX, HFSVCPACK and CABS folders) and no winnt.sif nor nlite applied to SOURCESS. Result: it works!!! 2) In progress....
  16. sfcfiles.dl_ is from VORCKs site and .reg file is a "open command window here" explorer shell, thats all. I've tried yesterday without the files in HFSVCPACK and HFSVCPACK_SW. Even with HF folder. Same results. But I will try again anyway. Testing with new test release.
  17. Ok I tried without nlite, with an answer file winnt.sif and with fresh source copied from an original CD. Tried in HFSLIP final and in the last test version. Now It completely hangs when it displays "saving configuration". Net frameworks installed (aparently), also java and my reg tweaks. The progress bar reaches the final but it doesn't restart nor finish the installation. If I reset, the installation begins again. Pic: I also tried a copy of Windows XP Professional SP2 Corporate, with IE7 and WMP11 slipstreamed at T-13, like the HFSLIP homepage instructions say to do it (Home config was IE6 & WMP10). No luck at all. Same results (that pic is from the WXP Pro) Thanks for the help EDIT My HFSLIP latest test version files for Windows XP Professional SP2. Maybe the problem is with UPHClean-Setup.msi? 18. Thanks for answering Tomcat76 , I'll try it. By the way, are the same hotfixes for WXP Pro than for WXP Home? I will try HFSLIP test version too, to see if something is fixed.
  19. Hi! Well, I have a problem with HFSLIP final. The fact is that I slipstream all the hotfixes that are in the dinamic list (as you say in HFSLIP webpage) and everything is ok. BUT when I try to install it in VMWARE, the installation hangs out at the step registering components - sorry It's a direct translation of the spanish name - near the end of the installation (I use Windows 2000 classic installation style). The only thing that I do past the HFSLIP slipstream is make an unnattended installation with nlite. Users, CDkey, workgroup, etc... Here is the list of files that I slipstream: Files in your FIX folder: sfcfiles.dl_ Files in your HF folder: HMTCDWizard_ESN.exe mp10setup.exe msxml2sp6-kb887606-x86-esn.exe msxml4-KB927978-esn.exe msxml6-KB927977-esn-x86.exe Windows-KB890830-V1.24.exe Windows-KB909520-v1.000-x86-ESN.exe WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe WindowsMedia-KB911564-x86-ESN.exe WindowsMedia10-KB917734-x86-ESN.exe WindowsMedia6-KB925398-x86-ESN.exe WindowsRightsManagementServicesSP2-KB917275-Client-ESN-x86.exe WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe WindowsXP-KB873339-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB885626-v2-x86-esn.exe WindowsXP-KB885836-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB886185-x86-esn.exe WindowsXP-KB887472-x86-esn.exe WindowsXP-KB888302-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB890859-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB891781-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB893756-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB896344-v2-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-KB896358-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB896423-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB896424-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB896428-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB898461-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB899587-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB899591-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB900485-v2-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB900725-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB901017-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB901190-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB901214-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB904706-v2-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB904942-v2-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB905414-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB905474-ENU-x86.exe WindowsXP-KB905749-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB908519-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB908531-v2-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB910437-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB911280-v2-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB911562-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB911927-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB912817-v2-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB912919-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB913580-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB914388-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB914389-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB914440-v12-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB916595-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB917422-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB917537-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB917953-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB918439-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB919007-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB920213-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB920342-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB920670-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB920683-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB920685-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB920872-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB921398-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB922582-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB922616-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB922819-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB923191-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB923414-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB923689-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB923694-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB923980-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB924191-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB924270-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB925454-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB925876-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-KB926247-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB926255-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB928388-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-KB929969-x86-ESN.exe WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-esn.exe wmfdist95.exe msxml2.msi UPHClean-Setup.msi Files in your HFCABS folder: Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x86.cab Apr2006_d3dx9_30_x86.cab Apr2006_XACT_x86.cab Apr2006_xinput_x86.cab Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x86.cab AUG2006_XACT_x86.cab AUG2006_xinput_x86.cab Dec2005_d3dx9_28_x86.cab DEC2006_d3dx10_00_x86.cab DEC2006_d3dx9_32_x86.cab DEC2006_XACT_x86.cab Feb2005_d3dx9_24_x86.cab Feb2006_d3dx9_29_x86.cab Feb2006_XACT_x86.cab IUCTL.CAB Jun2005_d3dx9_26_x86.cab JUN2006_XACT_x86.cab LegitCheckControl.cab MUWEB_SITE.CAB Oct2005_xinput_x86.cab OCT2006_d3dx9_31_x86.cab OCT2006_XACT_x86.cab OCT2006_xinput_x86.cab OGAControl.cab OPUC4.CAB swflash.cab Files in your HFSVCPACK folder: cmdhrcp.reg DNF11.exe DNF20.exe jre6.exe Files in your HFSVCPACK_SW folder: Files in your HFTOOLS folder: modifyPE.exe MSICabExtract.exe reg.exe Thanks in advance for the help
  20. Well, that's great work dude! But don't you think that it would be better to convert those-ugly-in-win2k-alpha-blended-icons into 256 or True Colored ones? I have hacked almost of my Win2k. If you are interested I can send you resources
