Hi all, I have finally got this method to work after many trials & tribulations. Doing a clean reinstall with the original Windows 7 DVD seemed to sort it out. (Edited post as fixed earlier issues) My only remaining issue is that when I double click on a folder, it opens up a new window. It does this whether I check or uncheck "Launch folder in a separate process" in the folder options. Any ideas?

Hey dude. Just use nLite for XP nLite link Its got a lot of features as well. Allows you to add certain apps like Firefox, etc.

Hi Blue, That worked However, I have an issue when trying to integrate drivers for my Nvidia graphics card. Drivers are latest official WHQL Windows 7 x64 drivers. (I have no problems with integrating Nforce drivers though). Installing 10 of 11 - D:\[Win_7]\7Customizer\Win7Drivers\Nvidia WinVista_Win7_64 v195.62\NV_DISP.INF: Error - An error occurred. The driver package could not be installed. For more information, check for log files in the <windir>\inf folder of the targ et image. I finally got it to execute without any errors. However, after I rebuild the image, I dont notice any size decrease whatsoever. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I am getting a Dism error 50. It occurs when I click on apply to rebuild as one (Home Premium). I have attached my log file.

What size did you get it down to? I can only ever get it down to about 1.8GB. Were you able to remove IE as well? Cheers Install.wim is 1.74GB. Had no intention of removing IE8. Did you modify removals.bat in any other way than to change the file directories? Congrats on your success. Hopefully I will be able to sort my problems soon

Recommended use 1. Modify the removal.bat to fit your needs (just in case you forgot) 2. Integrate Language pack (removal.bat langpack) 3. Integrate Updates (removal.bat updates) 4. Packages removal (removal.bat packages; 3/4: removal.bat pre) 5. vLite (Component removal only) 6. Cleanup of files and folders (removal.bat cleanup) 7. Integrate Drivers (removal.bat drivers; 6/7: (removal.bat post) 8. vLite (Tweaks only: reduce image size after cleanup) 9. Test on a secondary partition or to a virtual environment (such as VMware) 10. After installation final steps can be performed (removal.bat final) Having reviewed the whole thread, I think my errors might be due to my using Vlite to remove too much. Unfortunately I am away on business so I wont be able to verify this for another week Hope you get your issues fixed pretty soon

At which stage do you get the error? I get an error in the cleanup phase (step 6), that i cant move beyond.

Sorry if I am repeating what you said, but did you run the command prompt with Admin rights?

I think I got the same error also. Try this: http://www.askvg.com/add-take-ownership-op...-windows-vista/ When you have imported the reg file, right click on your mounted folder and click "Take ownership". You may have to restart the computer. As far as I can remember, that worked for me.

@Guillaume: I havent gotten as far as creating the DVD yet as I get some errors in the cleanup phase (Step 6) I have attached all the files. If anyone can give me any guidance, that would be great

Cleanup of files and folders (removal.bat cleanup) 7. Integrate Drivers (removal.bat drivers; 6/7: (removal.bat post) In step 4, I run removal.bat packages. What does the 3/4: removal.bat pre mean? Do I run that directly after/before? In step 7, I Integrate Drivers. What does 6/7: (removal.bat post) mean? Also, can I use Vlite to integrate drivers instead? Thx.

Would I also need to reinstall a full version of Win 7, that is, a non-vlited version, and then try again, or would reinstalling a vlited version not matter? Thx Hope that makes sense

I had seen that thread and downloaded the Vista WAIK, but just realised that whatever vesion I got is not the correct one as its name does not match the name of the one in the link you posted. Downloading correct one now. Thx for that. Hopefully that will fix my problems

Hi, I am getting the following error when I run the command: removal64.bat packages "The specified package is not valid Windows package." I have extracted everything to the root of my C-drive. See the attached jpeg. I have also attached the full output from my command prompt as a text file. Any help appreciated.

Hi, me again. I followed the recommendations of "FridgeTooFar" but when the installation gets to the point where you select either a "Home", "Work" or "Public" network, when I click on a network it hangs at that screen. The progress bar just keeps scanning across but does not go any further. Any ideas?

Hi guys. I have Vlited internet explorer out of Vista. However, Windows Update wants to update it IE. I have tried to "hiding" the update but that doesnt work. Any ideas how to prevent WU looking to update IE since IE is not present on the computer. This is not a major thing, just a small annoyance. Thx.

Hi there, I would like to change where DVD Shrink gets installed to. I have a folder called "C:\DVD Ripping" where I obviously install all the programs I use for backing up my DVD collection. How could I get DVD Shrink to install to: "C:\DVD Ripping\DVD Shrink" instead of "C:\Program Files\DVD Shrink". What setting would I change in the entries.ini file. Thx.

The whole SFP thing and unsigned themes has become very confusing in the latest version of nLite, I did not know whether to select of deselect thos checkboxes. The description text by those checkboxes are counterintuitive. They need to be worded more logically. Just my 2c
