  1. Well, Windows Update is broken if you are removing Component Cache. I was having a bit of a problem there with the C++ Redistributable, but it got fixed somehow and I can't explain how.
  2. Visual C++ Redistributable fails to install (both x86 and x64). Component Cache is on. My problem somehow got fixed (I only installed Acronis True Image & Daemon Tools). This is weird.
  3. If it is a SATA HDD, please add the chipset drivers to the install (either by using nLite which is much more easier and comfortable, either during the install). If you are having a INTEL or nVidia chipset (motherboard) you may need for search for your solution elsewhere, because these two are the only chipsets with SATA support on Windows XP/2003.
  4. I will try to resize C:\ to see if I can use Component Cache, as it's taking 2GB for almost no use.
  5. OK, so since I installed Vista two times today, the second time just to see if Windows Update is fixed, I might give it another try with Component Cache on to see if this is the problem. But afterwards, how do I remove it? I kind of made a mistake by using a 10GB partition and it might need resizing and with Component Cache on I might be able not to install Vista again on this one. I guess I'll leave for next time. 99% the chance is that Component Cache is to blame, because the other things are not relevant to installation (Network part).
  6. No problem, I love your work and I don't know how I would do without it.
  7. It seems that by removing something I broke Windows Update. No updates install at all.
  8. OK nuhi, I got it. When I installed vLite I chose to change the default temp directory from the default to D:\. When I changed back to the default the error was gone. I hope this helps. Also, I didn't had much space on the temporary one, something like 3GB, but the partition where Vista was extracted (D:\) was shrinking while applying.
  9. You'll have to figure it out by yourself. I am getting this error too. It would of been useful if Unlocker would have x64 shell extensions.
  10. OK, I understand. Let me see what I can do and if I can find a solution, I'll tell you. Even without all the hooks off it's not working. Also, in vLite 0.8 I didn't had this problem.
  11. I have the same problem, let's see if it works.
  12. I get this error (running Windows Server 2003 x64): .
  13. And also look for Softpedia for Royale Noir. It has Zune, Royale and Royale Noir included + changes the default icons to Vista icons.
  14. aydc it doesn't really matter how big the Windows folder is, it matters how much space the whole package takes: Windows + Documents And Settings + Program Files + Program Files (x86 if it exists).
  15. If I remove the Indexing service shouldn't the "Allow Indexing Service bla bla bla" box in driver properties be unticked? If I don't have it why is it still ticked? Should be unticked since I have nothing to index.
  16. Either Autopatcher either RyanVM. Google them.
  17. It doesn't have that ability yet, but I am sure that it will be implemented. Also, when installing Vista you are able to install Vista. Maybe you should create a folder on the image, copy all the drivers and create the .ISO with vLite. This way you have the drivers you need on the DVD. Removing those Vista drivers shouldn't have a bad effect on your PC if you using the drivers from the manufacturer.
  18. Also, when enabling direct deleting of files the Recycle Bin settings usually don't apply. Sometimes I see files in it, although it's set to 0% for all drives and it shouldn't keep files in it.
  19. I kind of have a vague idea that it's nLite's fault on this one. I have created a modified version of Windows Server 2003 Enterprise R2 x64 with nLite and have removed some services (Indexing, Remote Registry, Telnet). Every time I mess around with either Terminal Services service (more specifically disabling it) both Server and Workstation services disappear. Or by just using Management Console with Local Users and Groups and removing remote login. The services delete themselves automatically from the registry.
  20. Does anyone have an ideea of how can we increase the number of concurrent connections in SP2 RC? Thank you.
  21. It's a common problem with EA Games. They acknowledged that on their official forum.
  22. Well, the next major release (except Server 2007/2008) will be Windows Server "Centro", a kind of SMB sh*t I think. I didn't had the chance to install it though. It's divided into 3 DVDs...
  23. More FPS, improved stability, improved response times...1000$ for Standard and 4000$ for Enterprise compared to some hundreds for XP...that says a lot about the way they made it.
  24. How can a supercomputer use 32 bit processors? That's non-sense. I am sure that that computer doesn't run Windows so they can complain about the lack of x64 drivers. It probably runs either a specially designed OS either Linux or BSD. The Play Station 2 CPU is 128 bit from what I know.
