Incroyable HULK Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I'm looking for a small exe program (or anything else!) wich doesn't look ugly as shutdown.exe.To me it looks like a big error message and remind me one of those summer 2003 virus! Maybe something more graphical with a few buttons like Reboot Now and Cancel.EDIT: WoW 400 post!
durex Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I havent gotten a chance to try it out myself, but Ive seen many other people (including RyanVM's page) refer to this tool...http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/psshutdown.shtmlLet the rest of us know how it is!
RyanVM Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 PsShutdown gives the same window he was referring to
Incroyable HULK Posted December 21, 2004 Author Posted December 21, 2004 Ok, I tried PsShutdown.exe:basicSome optionsAt least I can put a cancel button...EDIT: I don't understand how to use the -e option:-e Shutdown reason code.Specify 'u' for user reason codes and 'p' for planned shutdown reason codes.xx is the major reason code (must be less than 256)yy is the minor reason code (must be less than 65536)psshutdown [[\\computer[,computer[,..] | @file [-u user [-p psswd]]] -s|-r|-h|-d|-k|-a|-l|-o [-f] [-c] [-t nn|h:m] [-n s] [-e [u|p]:xx:yy] [-m "message"]
ic0dk0c00 Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 You could try PeShutdown.exe. It was write WinPE but works on XP. http://home.t-online.de/home/520085154509/peshutdown.exeNo countdown and a very quick splash screen.

Martin Zugec Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Hmmmm, t 00 should not display this window...Or try using wmic os where Primary="TRUE" Call Reboot
Incroyable HULK Posted January 3, 2005 Author Posted January 3, 2005 t 00 would reboot the computer instantly... not a good thing since Windows isn't fully booted at the end of RunOnceEx.cmd.Keep in mind I only want a gentle warning with a timer, and maybe a few buttons like Reboot Now and Cancel.
Martin Zugec Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Using this directly after ROE and didnt find any problem... But if U want it other way, that I can provide two solutions 1.) Using sleep + t 002.) Using PowerOff (http://users.pandora.be/jbosman/applications.html) with timer on
