nLite 1.4 Beta errors...

Recommended Posts

Posted

Well, when nLite was integrating some hotfixes... an error message: "Error! | This isn't the type of awaited critical update" or something thus... on:

-KB927802

-KB899587

-KB924270

-KB923191

And on KB887472 "Wrong Hotfix | This hotfix isn't made for this windows version!"

Well... it doesn't really matters to me, when I was installing the ISO on Virtual PC 2007 everything was ok... but when I installed virtual pc additions and updated windows xp (windows update) and rebooted the pc:

sfcerrorjh7.th.jpg

This is: SP2+IE7+Hotfixes+My Drivers+themes... I didn't remove anything... just "alexa"

PD: Sorry for my bad english :unsure:

Hi! When you get the WFP/SFC popup can you please just keep clicking cancel, then once it is not complaining anymore, go into your event log and it will have a list of WFP/SFC entries, one for each file it wanted to restore. If you can list them here that would be a great help. Thanks!

Ok, I want to help... but my english is really bad, I understood that in "Herramientas Administrativas" (Management Tools)->"Visor de sucesos" (I think this is what you call Event Log)

Is that what you mean?

Windows File Protection popping up while installing non-Microsoft drivers is a known issue when Service Pack 2 is slipstreamed or integrated!

The only way around it is to *NOT* slipstream or integrate Service Pack 2!

@NeoZeruel,

Can you please do one last thing and upload your c:\windows\system32\sfcfiles.dll file here? This is the file that contains the list of files that SFC/WFP monitors. It is the file nLite modifies to remove entries that no longer need to be scanned but it looks like yours has somehow reverted to an original version, or that Windows Update has replaced it somehow. If you can upload it here (its only small, about 1.5mb) or send me a PM and I'll give you my email address. Thanks very much!

NeoZeruel, thanks for the list.

But c:\windows\system32\winar30.ime, what the hell :)

This will be tough, there was nothing to filter out since you didn't remove anything, but why is sfcfiles.dll reported as tampered, please attach your preset as well.

No problem guy, here you have the file :D

And again... good luck :D

I was just about to nlite my first xp64. I assume that box was asking for service pack 2 cd. If i pop in SP2 cd, I should be able to get by this no problem right? I don't want to take the time to make a install that i'll do all over in a matter of days. If i have to put SP2 in and everything works fine, i can live with that.

You can also just click ignore/cancel since those files it complains about either don't exist in your install, or are modified from their original versions.

@NeoZeruel

Thanks again for uploading the file. We're working on seeing why your sfcfiles.dll is being modified when you aren't selecting components for removal, but unfortunately we can't give any ETA. The information you've given us has been very helpful, though, and because of that the problem has a good chance of being solved :)

NeoZeruel, thx.

Btw. have you tried providing it with that nlited CD so that it recopies those "missing" files?

You can reinitiate that with sfc /scannow
