I have recently discovered an issue with my setup of MPEG1 file handling. This will be corrected for the next release. Had you responded in the codec thread you would have received a response much sooner. You can correct this on your own by changing a single setting in the 'Video decoder configuration' shortcut. In the righthand window change the setting for MPEG1 from libavcodec to disabled by clicking on the setting.
I don't wantto disrespect Shark`s work (so Shark please excuse me ;)), but I'm using ffdshow and I'm not having any issues at all.
Thats not disrespectful. This is best practice.

If people have the knowledge to install and setup individual codecs on their own I highly recomend this proceedure for codec setup. I create my codec package for the other 90% of the population who are not capable of doing this.

:):hello:

Maybe I'm noobish regarding Vista codecs, but I've used Codav3.3 codec pack on XP and I continued to use it on Vista. Never had any problems with it.

Hello.

I'm a new user of vista, and my understanding of informatic issues is very low...

I'm having the same problem with the media player (asks me for the 50 codec), but I can't found the place were correct it (said by shark).

How can I solve that problem??

Thanks for this wonderful thread shark. I too had the same problem. I downloaded the codec pack, set the MPEG1 option to DISABLE, but windows media player still gives the same error. Any other way to get rid of it ????????

Thanks

If you had / have other codec installations on your system, this would be the problem.

If this is the case, remove everything codec related including VCP, reboot, re install VCP.

Vista Codec Package contains everything you need to play all of your media files.

shark,

i removed all the codec packs, then installed your codec pack, restarted the system. But it's still the same. I don't know y. where am i wrong or is it something else?

Can you upload the file you are trying to play to http://www.rapidshare.com ?

After it is uploaded you need to click a link near the bottom to get to the next page where there is a download link displayed.

Send me a Private Message with that download link in it.

To send a private message just click my name on the left here, and choose 'send message'
