(1) When I go to alter stuff in Multimedia (Control Panel) I am told to do it through 'Device Manager' in the Control Panel. But I do not have a Device Manager in the CP! I've do not seem to have a CPL for Device Manager - how do I get hold of it?

(2) What is URI (uniform resource ?indicator?). I was recently asked to enter the URI on an online form and had no idea what my URI was .....

The device manager is a tab on the system control panel applet. If it's missing, you can access it via windows\system\sysdm.cpl.

I think he wanted U R I (last one is capitol i)...

“Uniform Resource Indicator”, is a short string of characters that represent the address or location of resources, typically on the internet, and how that resource should be accessed.

Rest of it @ Define URI

@marxo - thx, good info; made us smarter...

@celtish - but still, what is asking for one? links usually contain the whole shebang and browsers usually(?) autofill(?) "http" before "www".

... looked up all those references, guys, but they didn't really gel with me.

It was this online form which asked me not for my URL but for my URI ... Stupid form, anyway - didn't work!!!!

Even after reading all the references I am still having a problem getting my head 'round this. Could someone please come up with a real example?
