WHOIS domain lookup

I just downloaded Karen's WHOIS lookup and how cool it but i was horrified to see my name and address come up when I looked up my domain name.

I have looked up the domain name of some sites and what is returned is something along the lines of "this person has opted-out of the WHOIS lookup"

or something to that effect.

Does anyone know how to hide your indentity/address from WHOIS lookup???

I just use an email address (@yahoo.com) that is setup solely for domain name spam. No need to pay for it.

But, yeah. Login to your account at your registrar and you can change your WHOIS info.

Even if you opt-out now, there's one thing to consider. There are some websites such as https://alldomainsdb.com/ for e.g. that reap all the whois data available out there and make it in databases, which are later sold for huge money. So opting-out would stop the people from finding you at real time whois checks, but those who have such databases would still have your details as once they were public.
