Wijono Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 When trying to install [Catalyst Control Center] into a PC with WinXP Home an error message pops up that say .NET Framework is required.I know nothing about .NET Framework, I know though that there are different versions, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0., the question is: must I install them all starting say from 1.0 etc., or is it sufficient to opt just one, e.g., version 2.0 alone?Your hint will be highly appreciated.
grzesiek Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 You don't need to install all versions. For most aplications will be enoung if you install version 2.0 but some need version 1.1.
Jeremy Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I've never used a .NET application that needed v1.1 as opposed to v2.0. If one does, it's the programmer's intention for whatever reason. But v2.0 is all you need.
Zxian Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 In most cases, if a program is made for 1.0 or 1.1, then it will work with 2.0 installed. However, some installers check for the specific version number, so will not install unless you have the correct version installed.
Wijono Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Thank you all guys!!I have installed Version 2.0 only and it looks OK.
jcarle Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Do keep in mind that some applications developed with .NET 1.1 will still require the 1.1 runtimes to be installed, even if 2.0 is installed.
