October 14, 200322 yr I am trying to silent install diskeeper 8 now.Having searched the threads I see people use .msi to silent install. How do I convert an .exe to .msi ? thanks
October 14, 200322 yr Well here's a guess. Run the exe, and as setup is in front of you look at %tmp% for the .msi file.-gosh
October 14, 200322 yr Gosh´s tips works for me You just abort the install before the last step and You will find the .msiin Your ?:\windows\downloaded installation map. Good luck./ SwedenXP

October 14, 200322 yr just FYI. If you were unable to extract an MSI file from the EXE then you could use programs such as InstallSheild or VISE, or there are many others. Some of them are quite expensive (IS is thousands of dollars) but they all offer trial periods.
October 14, 200322 yr Now... if you already have an MSI you want to edit, then I recommend Orca. You will need to know a little bit about the product and MSI's to use it though. I used it to edit the default selected properties when you install a program.
