angel0104 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 i'm just wondering, if i made a clone/image of a pc and i want to transfer it to other pc,does ut have to be the same type of hardware, e.g., an radeon vc transfer to a pc w/ geforceor diff mb chipset.

IcemanND Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Actually there are a number of ways to do it. the biggest hang up is the HAL type. The second is the Hard drive controller. After that you just need to intall the other drivers that don't exist.
arctirus Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Vista seems to be really good about unlike hardware. I created a vista machine in vmware and ghosted it to a real pc just to test it. After taking an extra two or three minutes to automagically install drivers during the first boot it ran normally after that.
