Ponch Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 there is a password in the bios and i dont know what it is...ask the owner.
nitroshift Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 ask the owner....or ask the previous owner you bought it from
cratix Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 its from a rentacenter place i called but they said they cant help with it... there is no way i can get around it because i need to run a windows xp disk to put windows on it
Ponch Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 So you rent a computer that doesn't work and they can't help. Ask for a refund.
nitroshift Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 If you rented the pc, didn't it come with windows already installed?
Jakebo Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Sounds like they gave you defective equipment. I would take it back, if they can't fix it they need to replace it. Unless of course it worked fine at first and has started having problems since you got it. In which case I would suggest calling Compaq Tech Support.
Archdeacon Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 If you have a BIOS password and want to remove it (this will reset all BIOS defaults) you must remove the internal battery (the small round one) for at least 30 minutes after which the BIOS will reset itself and the battery should then be refitted.
Kelsenellenelvian Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Check your contract they should have a cluase in it about providing tech support....
