Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus (Gigabyte GA-M61PM-S2)

Hi there, I've just built my new system today, everything worked well and was installed well.

But the only problem is, I can't seem to install the onboard audio drivers. Does anyone know why?

There is a HD-audio update from MicroSoft, look at there site, but i think you will find it on the install CD from your mobo too.

When you download the driver-pack from Realtek it should include that KB-update from MicroSoft.

I assume you've downloaded the R1.53 driver from the Giga-Byte drivers page for your motherboard. How are you attempting to install it? It's been my experience that you need to unzip and run the SETUP.EXE for HD audio drivers (rather than having Windows search for the INF file).

Looks like a nice board though. I've been looking for a good micro-ATX AM2 board.

your audio codec is a Realtek ALC883, so why not get the Realtek driver?

I've tried installing it from the mobo CD but it wouldn't let me.

I'm dling now at RealTek, what you and ripken adviced (thanks =D)

First off install KB888111 from Microsoft. That enables the High Definition Support needed by the audio driver to get installed.
