stupid_pc!
OK, so i decided to upgrade to WMP11, so, i start the installation and it tells me i need SP2, so i think, fair enough, i try and install it and it tells me that C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe is open or is being used by another application, I dont have anything open!! I tried closing every little thing, like the stuff on my bar at the bottom, i tried everything, and still, i got nothing. So, if any one could just tell me how i fix this problem, i can dwnload it, and get WMP11Thanks in advance, stupid_pc! kz26
You might be having a virus/spyware problem. Either that, or you Windows install is seriously screwed up. I would recommend a clean install of Windows again.
stupid_pc!
how do i reinstall windows?
Jeremy
Scan your system with Avast! Free Home Edition v4.7 to clean out any viruses, then use Ad-Aware, Spybot, CWShredder to clean out any spyware.Afterwards download SP2 from here and install it. IcemanND
Definitely infected with something. Get machine cleaned up first. Also you can get Process Explorer from microsoft and see if it will run instead of the default task managerhttp://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysintern...ssExplorer.mspx
TheFlash428
I too would recommend a re-install, but judging from your responses, that may be easier said than done. Try the above advice to clean your system, and turn on automatic updates! If you don't want to take the time to run service packs and hotfixes manually, you should definately let windows do it for you!
