Recently, perhaps upon update of the forum or something it always crash my IE6 (original) browser under Win2k SP2 (modified) when I hit return and once the reply page load - then it crash the Internet Eplorer 6.

It does, however, working nicely with FireFox, Opera, Mozzila, kMelon and so on :realmad:

Hence there is something bad. The usual - clering IE cache, cookies, history and checking for trojans and spyware by Ad-Aware and Spybot with updated databases did not cure a thing.

Last time I had this crash (no, it is NOT machine unstability either) it was using google video. I fixed that by specify that the google.com can store cookies w/o problems. Then it run fine, before it crashing the very same way. I tried to specify the msfn.org to can store the cookies, but it is probably some of the adverts, that is going wrong there.

I do, however, block them in hosts files (as well, as having SPI FireWall), yet something is done the way that it crash the IE6.

Anyone know what it is and will it get fixed, or must I use FireFox for this forum, like it is some kind of nasty page, for witch using FF as browser is necessary in order to not get infected?:rolleyes::blink:

Sorry, but can't reproduce problem. You are first visitor with such issue.

O.T. What will happen with msfn if all users block ads?

Never mind.

One possibility is a bloated Hosts file trying to search through all of the data in it, since you use it to block ads and more which a misuse for the Hosts file.

It works with the same hosts file fine in FireFox, tough. (many versions tested, right now 1.0.8 - most bug-free, 1.5 and 2.x are horrible...) ...

Any interest in the dump of crashing IE? It happen all the times, SP2, SP3, SP4 - clean win, etc.

Well, there is the DrWatson result, as I was unable to obtain anything with the debudger mentioned in the linked thread above - when I hit reply, the page is loading, then IE crash and then I enter the commandline only to get informed that IExplorer is no longer running.

C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows>cscript adplus.vbs -crash -pn iexplorer -o c:\adplus
Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.6

The following requested processes are not executing:
IEXPLORER;

Suggestions welcome, if this one is not enought - DrWatson log included in file now :)

testing reply in XP SP2 ... because it seems to work there

(IE v6.0.2900.2180)

PS. the problem was never space on web, but rather functionality. It should work (the reply and the uploading too) but it does not...

Yes, that looks like to be it, as the RSS image never finish loading or so, so I suspected it immediatelly... If it was from some other server, I would simply block it in hosts file, but ... the suxxka is tied to this forum too much. Thanks for not telling me about "misuse" of my hosts files to block things I did not like :hello:

And BUMP for solution. I'm used to use FF for "bad sites" only, not for this forum, for christ sake! :realmad:

Sounds as though it is an isolated issue on your computer. Have you modified your Windows install any?
