I'm Polish and i have problem with instal Windows XP. I'm not good in English but i try to explain my problem.

I have already clear my hard disc(but i was clearing and deleting disc 4 times, because I first do this). When computer is restarting and show : "press the key.." , the instalation proces not want to start. Please help me. Maybe i said something incomprehensibly, so corect me.

Do you actually press a key on the keyboard when it says "Press any key to boot from CD-ROM"?

In forums i found, that i can't press a key, I must wait. Naturally fisrt I press a key to clear my copmuter, but after the whole process when the computer restart I must wait when this report is showing.

So you're saying that when you press a key, the PC just loads Windows as usual? This sounds like the installation CD isn't actually bootable.

no.. I press key, istalation process in bios done then I press F8, I see the list of my disces, I clear one of my disc. When the whole process done the computer restart. I see report : "press any ... " I'm waiting on instalation process but it'll not want to start.

Ok, you'll have to press F8 after it's reformatted and rebooted and tell it to boot to the HDD to begin installation.

I formatted my computer,it resetted, I pressed F8 and .. nothing.

Well, whatever key it is set to bring up the boot options. Next time it reboots, go into BIOS and change the first boot option to HDD, then it should continue with setup normally.

1) Removeable Devices

2) Adapti CDROm

3) HDD

4) Network Boot

when you press any key to format the drive, continue through this step...when your computer boots again, DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY. by doing this, it will continue through installation.

it happened to me several times before i caught on, this should solve the problem.

OK. I have in BIOS "Boot Device Priority".

I go into and i have:

1) 1st floppy drive

2) CD/DVD:PS-HL-DT-ST..

3) HDD:PM-SAMSUNG SPO..

4) Network:Realtek Boot Agent

That boot priority is fine. You have a BIOS that follows this order very strictly. I've encountered this before on several PCs. You press F8 to get to the advanced boot options, correct? Well after you reformat and the PC reboots, keep pressing F8 to once again get here and select 3 for the HDD. Setup will continue normally.

The only reason this wouldn't happen correctly is if the CD you're trying to boot from is not bootable.
