Since seagate bought maxtor, has maxtors quality gone up or has seagate gone down?

Haven't bought a Maxtor in a few months, so can't say for sure. As for Seagate, I haven't noticed any changes. Bought many Seagate HDs since then and no problems whatsoever.

I think Maxtor isn´t any more with HDDs; They kicked out so much people and there drives are not updated so much any more.

Good thing is that they give 3 year warranty again, but that doesn´t say any thing about the quality of the drives.

Since there are no realy big changes in there drives I think the quality is the same. Only drives I can buy in Mexico from them are refurbished ones... Don´t know what to think about it...
